Depends on how far away your opponent is, if they're up close, I'd kick them, if they're in the air or far away, I roll back

Also Vice Versa, what do you do when your opponent is down ? Time a long range attack ? Rush ? duck and block?

Duck and block, after they kick they're open for a second

Have you ever heard of conditioning? conditioning is one of the greatest tools you can use in a match, basically it is persuading your opponent to do as you please, in other words "Conditioning your opponent".

If I condition my opponent to kick when they are down, then I have an advantageous way to punish each knock down, for example: 'I knock down my opponent' 'my opponent stays grounded' 'I walk forward but stop just before my opponents punishing limit line' 'my opponent kicks' 'I conditioned my opponents movement to my advantage'.

In conclusion, there is no right or wrong, its all a matter of conditioning, adapting and common sense.

I usually don't let fallen opponents have a chance. I back off in games that don't have down strikes, so I have plenty of time to prepare and react to a directional roll, and it keeps me away from getup attacks.

If I'm down and a player is close, I'll test the water with a get-up attack. If if fails, I'll roll away the next time it happens. Just ducking and blocking when up close leaves you open for a throw. LEarn from what the opponent does, but remember they're learning from what you do as well.

Play dead. glasses

If it wasn't for the mk vs dc forum, i thought you were talking about being emotionally down.

I'd wait and see, too close, better to attack, too far, just get up. medium range i'd roll, either forward or backward, if there's a supported forward roll followed by a surprise attack.
