Yeah I've had no trouble against Kung Lao, only against Kano and Ermac if they keep doing the same two moves repeatedly. I haven't found a way to get around them (I only play as Cage whether I win or lose). DID fight a pretty good Kung Lao last night, though, he changed up his attacks a lot

that was before the nerf.

my highest combo before the nerf was in the 70's, now it only reaches mid 40's, and it's a 21 hit combo. the combo is a bitch to pull off offline, and practically impossible to pull off online. the highest combo i consistently land online is in the upper 30's or low 40's if i am lucky and able to connect an extra dive kick.

and because of idiots who keep on jumping into kung lao's spin and/or unable to punish it after a block because they are too stupid to react, kung lao is getting nerfed yet again.

Even with Kung Lao's nerfs he's going to still be in the top tier. He has more tools than most, he can control the air with his spin and dive kick, making it almost impossible to launch an air assault.

He's still fast enough to beat many to the punch in hand to hand combat.

He has keep away capabilities on par with Kabal as I've seen with his Buzz saw hat and regular version


The spin SHOULD have more recovery time, like Kabal's run makes him stumble when you hit a blocking opponent. Moves should be punishable when missed period.

Kung Lao's nerfs are like giving Sheeva an additional grapple, it's not enough to make them or break them as a character and they'll stay in the same playing field they were in this whole time.

You can see Liu's BP, FP, FK coming out a mile away, so if it hits you, then lrn2block. That doesn't need to be nerfed at all.

i use to play with Kung Lao but he is literally to cheezy so i stopped playing with him. I wouldn't have him nerfed i just didnt want to play cheezy Kung Lao's. I think Milenna was worst than him anyway. oh and broken raidens smh

Part of me wishes they would just buff bad characters instead of nerfing whats considered OP. I suppose frame traps or resets warrent a change, but Id much rather see more moves or buffs be given to characters.

I have yet to see anybody play with Baraka or Sindel.

In MKII you can kick after going through the gravity after kicking a hit in the air or a punch then of course the major jump to hit down and kick for the fast kick from higher than Liu Kang kick!

Also, Ermac got nerfed terribly. You can no longer do his JPS, BP, BP~TK Slam online, not sure if this is true offline as well.

that's not a terrible nerf. You can do his JPS B1 1 4 xx TK Slam, which is essentially the same type of combo you described above. High intro. It's even better because you can get hit confirmation off of it and it does higher damage.
