So for the last two days Ive been trying to play people better at the game than myself in hopes that I would get better.
However I think after losing over 150 fights in 2 days that perhaps I just simply am not at that highest level. I dont feel myself getting any better, and fall victim to the same sort of techniques. So Im manning up and admitting defeat here, and going back to playing within the casual level.
Why is this a post? Well because Ive been up for several hours and making bad choices is what I do on sleep deprivation. Cheers.

Start off small, I usually try and fight people with the same wins and loses at me. Then i'd get ballsy and fight people who are "really" good and sometimes beat them. But they usually win because they block or do their special little youtube combos they learned for 40 damage over and over.

lol cheerz
important thing with fighting games is to be unexpected, also is blocking high and LOW very important. be fast as the shadow and block twice as much....
instead of you i have only been beat several times and win 8/9 out of 10 matches. pp @ KOFTH leave the game...... give me 0.0 points and let me stand there all alone with no opponents to beat :( *try to play/practice without trick or combos but only use fast loose strikes, this will definitely improve your game-play*

LOL guys what Im saying is that I think Im as good as Im going to get, which is better than average, but not high level by any means.
Im pretty sure I could play 1 on 1 with Michael Jordan all day, and hed still kick my ass at hoops.
Some people got a talent for things, I enjoy MK, but I dont have a talent for it, and Im cool with that.

Ya what one kid said, you have to play people with the same wins and looses to get better. You can't play people who just hand you your ass all day, to get better. Trust me..LOL guys what Im saying is that I think Im as good as Im going to get, which is better than average, but not high level by any means.

I thought you were a Raiden player that was dominating the online world? No offense, you generally came off that way with how much you defended Raiden.
Raiden does drive me nuts, but I adapt.
Regardless, two days shouldn't really show you how you play. You're going to have good days and bad days, it happens to us all.
What battles have you been losing? Ranked Matches? Player Matches against strangers? Friend Player Matches?

I use to play with people similar to myself, i win but i get bored,. when i find someone better it's great. I don't care if i loose the first 10 fights, by the number 11 i'm usually defeating them, or at least close to it. You can learn a lot playing against better people, but not on a supper high level because they just won't let you do anything.

Try a few different people before you give up.
Last night i had a long marathon session with one fellow from the Chaosrealm XBL room. He mained Reptile and subbed Raiden. I kicked his ass with my Scorp a few times as in this game most people who know what they are doing have a few BnB combos that they rely on. He adjusted and i was forced to switch to some other fighters to switch it up.Dont give up!! try and learn a few new characters and if you start losing try a switch!

Yes I can use Raiden and almost never lose, but its not very rewarding because I do acknowledge that any retard can play as Raiden and win. I can also beat quite a lot of people with Kano, but its because of the up-ball. I suck against cross ups and airborne opponents, Kano and Raiden have easy outs for that, but I dont think abusing those easy outs is my standard for professional. I'm going to take the advice of just playing within in my skill level and slowly cranking it up. Perhaps I ran before I walked. I dunno. BTW Ive never actually claimed that Im good. All I have claimed is that I accept the perfessional play to win attitude and I dont complain about my opponents. I just hate quitters. Im very average at the game, but I embrace a pro-attitude and that why I come off that way.

When I first picked up SSFIV , I was doing really well, and then I kind of hit a wall, and I thought I would never get any better, but that goes away.
The key to any competitive fighting games is learning the MECHANICS first, THEN the characters.
When I play online, if I beat someone, from that point on I do random select, because to me it doesn't matter who you pick, its knowing the basics of the mechanics, and if you have that, you can win with anyone ( except for in really high level play situations ).
My advice to you is to try to find a training partner better than you, and just keep playing until you can beat them half of the time.
People play differently, but when you play one person over and over, you have a chance to identify their tendencies, and then you can learn how to out play them. Its all about picking up on player tendencies, and anticipating their next move.
My PSN is Convicsik , send me a friend request, and set up a time and I'll spar with you, and I'll try to help you out.
