The Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition made its second stop arriving in Daytona, Florida this weekend for the 2019 CEO Fighting Game Championships. The fur was flying as the Summer action heated up and MK staples stepped up!

Watch: Day 1 | Top 24 to Top 8 | Top 8 Finals

Kombat prodigy SonicFox bounced back from his loss in the Combo Breaker Grand Final, mustering a heroic effort to claim his first crown for the 2019/2020 Season!

Runner-up Dragon piled on the pressure when he forced SonicFox into the losers brackets with a 3-0 Semi Final clean sweep. A f0xy Grampa suffered a similar fate, sent into a sudden death faceoff with SonicFox by the dominant Dragon. A perfect 3-0 secured SonicFox's win out of the Second Chance bracket, but meant he still needed to win the reset if he was going to take the title. Dragon came out strong, dominating air, land, and probably sea in a first round blitz that saw his Cetrion dominate Jacqui Briggs. A switch to Cassie Cage quickly brought a finesse and timing to Fox's game that opened Dragon to punishing combos and a surprise 3-1 defeat. Dragon showed tremendous resolve even as the bracket was reset. Intuitive play and masterful throwing kept SonicFox in control in the end, taking out the 3-1 Grand Final Reset.

SonicFox was gratious in defeat, shaking his opponent's hand and applauding the runner-up as he celebrated his title win. A composed display in stark contrast to one of the most talked about moments of the tournament when Combo Breaker winner Scar was berated by rival Buffalo during heats. Buffalo loomed over his rival after a 2-0 victory, shouting and gesticulating through a fountain of hair as Scar kept his cool. The drama didn't effect Scar in the end, going on to earn a respectable place in the Top 16.

Podium finishes for Dragon and A F0xy Grampa improved on last month's final rank. DizzyTT and Deoxys also showed great consistency with high placements. The Pro Kompetition Series rankings have been shaken up not just by the result at CEO, but also the intervening Mortal Kombat 11 Online NA East tournament, which offered reduced points to Top 13 finalists. The Top 3 finalists from the online event were Kombat (1st), SonicFox (2nd), and Dragon (3rd). The extra 125pts from his win helped Kombat shoot up the ranks, while Dragon scored a handy extra 65pts to bolster his second place status! A 7th place online finish for Biohazard means he's equal on points with DJT, but defaults out of the Top 16 ranks per the 2nd tie breaker clause that prioritizes Premier events.
