^Yes! There's been a surge of Cyrax players since the patch. I've also seen an increase in Kitana players recently. confused

Sadly with the amount of time I've played online I've never came across anyone playing as Quan Chi, and because I don't have online, I can't really see what's so bad about him. Hence why I questioned.

As long as it's easy and yields wins people will abuse it. The game is well balanced considering its roster size if your a pro. If your anything less than a professional there are characters that are massively easier to use than others. People don't like to work hard.

So with Lao nerfed, enjoy Raiden Kitana and Cyrax. ON 11-11-11 Ill be playing SKYRIM

Not to steer the thread too off topic, but since the OP has clearly never returned and the thread isn't going anywhere, I'm loving InFamous right now and am excited for Assassin's Creed Revelations, Mortal Kombat is still a blast for me, but I will be limiting myself to playing a select few people from here and ladder, online really grinds my gears anyway. I think 6 months of consistent gameplay is a show of a great quality game, I'll probably still play it a couple times a week maybe.

I wish there was a Michigan tournament scene, I might take an interest in playing in something like that to keep me following it.

I did notice an influx of Kitanas though, which irks me and means I'm going to move on to someone else, over used characrers bore me...precisely why Kung Lao, Raiden, Scorpion, and Smoke do not appeal to me anymore.

Sonya, Stryker, Sheeva, and Rain will do just fine, those four still aren't overused as of present(but they're my favorites, so I wouldn't drop them anyway).

DEAD.

Btw, just to provide some help against Mileena and Cyrax when playing with Kitana:

You can punish Mileena's ex-teleport with d1 into cutter, or even better d1 into enhanced fan lift. It's not easy to pull it off though. To punish the roll, you can do 4 into fan toss followed by 2 into fan lift and take it from there, it will do nice damage. Don't go for f2, 1 string to punish her roll, it won't juggle as it usually does. If you see them abusing d4, jump-in kick on them and cancel into an instant air fan, you can get 30%+ damage from this.

As for Cyrax, when full screen away iAF him, when you do the iAF as soon as possible (jumping vertically) you'll recover on time to block his net. Punish his teleport with d1 or 2, 1 string (it's her fastest string). When you see a net coming use the enhanced instant air square wave, it has armor and she'll go through the net taking 0% damage, ass him and give him something to think about. The move is also very very hard to punish (when performed as an instant air square). Finally, I prefer to stay cca. mid-screen distance away from him, when you see the net (the mid-screen distance will bait it very often), forwards jump over it and do an enhanced air fan as you're landing down, it will catch him. Dash cancel the second one and enjoy your BnB!

Now to get back on topic. I played some inFamous this summer and finished the story mode as a hero on easy :p. It was awesome, although I haven't collected all the blast shards. It's kind of a pain finding them when there's only 10 or so left to collect. I noticed a lot of mechanics carried over from Sucker Punch's Sly Cooper series for PS2 which I loved, so no wonder I enjoyed inFamous too.

I destroyed InFamous lol. I have like 80% of the trophies. I collected all the blast shards too (took forever!). It's just a great game. I haven't gotten the second one yet, but I might at some point. smile

You totally should, it's a big improvement compared to the original, the first game is still great on its own though.

I'm starting to take more of an interest in Noob Saibot now, I've barely ever used him, but I'm now thinking of the rarely (if at all) used Ghost Ball. I'm thinking of the mind games that are possible by using it, using it in my combos, alternating between Ghost Ball and Spirit Ball (EX Ball), to keep my opponent on the edge when I do use the Spirit Ball to confuse their directional controls.

Mileena shuts down all zoning and I do mean all, I feel so limited when I fight Mileena and I don't rely heavily on zoning and also if someone picks Cyrax, I will never lob a projectile at them, trading that for one of his nets, which can lead into his 40+ combos is not an exchange I'm keen on making. The constant bomb trap attempts and net, make me feel like I'm playing a Sonic game and Dr. Robotnic won't stop trolling lol, his bomb traps are managable, but it still racks my brain.

The most annoying people to fight for me are Noob, Mileena, Kratos, dat damn beat all parry, his cousin Quan Chi( for him to be low tier, I'd rather fight Kabal than to fight him lmao).

Raiden isn't that bad, if his teleport didn't turn every fight into a guessing game that is never in your favor, especially with lag and stupid zero start up on thunder dive and that bloody teleporttongue

I don't fight Mileena with Sub-Zero anymore. I use Noob to fight her. But you really have to read what is going on to be effective. Her teleport and EX-teleport are totally owned by Noob's upshadow.

Here is my stradegy with Noob vs. Mileena.

Typically the round starts off with the Mileena player doing a teleport. I will immediately throw up-shadow to knock her ass out of the sky. When they think that you won't do it again, keeping doing it to train their next teleport attempt and knock it out of the sky too. If they didn't teleport, using the up shadow is still good because if they fire on you with her sais, the up shadow will not be hit and plus, help you gain more meter. When you are full screen and Mileena is throwing sais trying to hit you and build meter, simply time your up-shadows so they cannot hit you and you build meter as well. The great thing about Noob's up-shadow is the animation is so fast, that if you do it fast enough, the up-shadow will interrupt itself having you gain meter even faster by starting another up shadow. Now, if you go crazy with this, you will eventually be hit if you're not paying attention.

Mileena has two options now, teleport or roll. If she teleports, well, you're already doing up shadow to knock her ass out, but if she rolls, you better be paying attention because depending on her distance, she can hit you.

If she advances, quickly adjust your timing or dash back and throw out a running tackle. If she jumps it immediately, up-shadow, twice. This too can be risky, but normally it's effective. Always pay attention to her distance from you. And at all costs DO NOT LET HER GET IN, LOL.

Noob's up-shadow and his d4 are both great ways to avoiding being hit by someone throwing projectiles continuously. Unless they have a low. Noob's d4 will not be hit by a projectile the same as a neutral crouch. But, while you are d4ing, if they advance, you can at least knock them back for an attempt to get a hit or shadow in.

My biggest damned problem for some reason is friggin ERMAC! LOL.

What do you do to throw Mileena off her game? Im totally cluesless against her because that telekick beats everything, but if you block it, she just gets to walk up and do whatever she wants. How do you control the fight or at least fight for controll vs mileena?

I main Mileena and have about 2000 wins with her online...that's because I take advantage of her mix ups. I start combos with a jump-towards-punch and then follow up with either u+4 (overhead) or her sweep (low hit, followed by a roll). This throws EVERYONE off cause I mix it up and it leaves them guessing so I mostly get easy wins with Mileena...granted I've practised and got a lot of combos down with her of course. The ooonly thing that always gets me is parrying characters. Esp Cyber Sub! Mileena is an aggressive character and Cyber Sub can shut her down with his parry easily! Liu Kang and Kung Lao can also give Mileena players a hard time. Tbh if your character has no parry against a good Mileena player, to stop him from being too aggressive....well you're doomed :P
