I totally understand you.
Combos without X-Ray shouldn't be above 35-40%.

In this game, lauching attacks are safe and for some characters, can lead to more than 50% damage.
If an attack is powerful on hit, it should be unsafe on block.

Breakers ? They take no skills and it sucks. Breakers should be more difficult to do, like the low parry in Tekken : right timing, and not just holding forward+block.

And can someone explain me why a character like Kitana possesses more combo power than a character like Sheeva ? It should be the opposite.

The skill in using a breaker does not come from how difficult the input is, but how clever your tactics are in using them. It uses two bars of your meter after all so you will maybe get 2-3 chances a match (and then no Xray or enhanced specials for you). Not like you can "just hold forward and block" to spam breakers is it?

It is perfect the way it is now. If you decide to sacrifice two bars to break, you know you gonna pull it off.

The breaker isn't supposed to require skill it's what you do after the breaker. And MK had parries before and they sucked. And combos that do <40% usually require alot of hits which by then you should build a breaker. I mean if a fast character like kung lao does 40% or more combos that's cheap because he has so many options. Take Reptile: post-patch it's impossible to do any more than 40% midscreen without Xray but does that mean he suck? No because he has other tools to work with. Play to your character's strengths, and don't be detered when your character can't pull off massive combos maybe his potential lies elsewhere.

And Kitana does better combos than Sheeva because Sheeva is a grapple heavy, powerhouse character.

Breaker : I agree , the skill is also about when you do it, will you save up or not for an X-Ray, etc ...
And also what will you do after ...

Maybe its me that doesn't understand MK's gameplay, but I still think breakers should be executed with an accurate timing.

Skill is not only about thinking, it is also about using fingers on the pad at the right time.
This is why Breakers have to be the result of concentration and timing, and not thinking and pressing.

Reptile is fine, because his combos are not overpowered and he has indeed a lot of great tools. So he is very balanced.

rayden4u2335 : "And Kitana does better combos than Sheeva because Sheeva is a grapple heavy, powerhouse character."
50% agree : Sheeva is a grappling character, but the powerhouse is Kitana.
The true powerhouse is not the bigger one but the most damaging one.

A slow character is supposed to do big damage.
A fast character is supposed to do less damage.
Sheeva is slower and less powerful compared to Kitana.
Maybe she has some unblockable, and throws, but those are not powerful enough.

I am disgusted when I see a Kitana player doing F2, 1, (which is a launcher that lead to big damage), and after that, he can freely escape, because this attack is safe.
Seriously, don't you think she should be on a little stun when the opponent block this attack ? not a big stun, of course, but enough to be punished by a quick jab.

This is a thing I don't like : there is too much attacks that are powerful and its impossible to punish them properly. There is not real reward after blocking the launchers.
