The fake teaser was posted on MKSecrets after it was posted on almost every single MK fan site (including MKO). This guy fooled the entire community (respect for that). So don't turn this on MKSecrets please.

How can I say that it is unconfirmed when the news comes from Midway directly. I don't think that there is a source more reliable that Midway.

I have no idea what kind of prove you guys really want. And I really want to see your reaction if the exact same news has appeared on some other site.

The title of the game (or the way Midway currently calls it) was given to us like any other stuff we have on our website. (screenshots, renders,artwork, information).

We are talking about the man from Midway .What do you know about him ?
How did you get the information from him ?
Did he tell you anthing before about the past MK games and was true ?

If these cant be answered then how can you name it confirmed

I will tell why cant we belive such a thing :
First Ed (the most reable source I think ) said it will be serious game , darker , Do you think getting The DC jokes in the series will be more serious ?

Second There are some members here (I wont say their names now but I will say them after MK is revealed with both thnx if they are right) make some post cant be belived such as saying English is not their first language and then he said he is british .. How can we belive such a man ??

Fourth , every new rumor comes from one of the worker in Midway without a prove all the say is WE HAVE MET THEM ,I HAVE MET MY FRIEND and they stop and dont complete the conversation saying it is not good for them while they have already said much ...Thats seems they have nothing to say .

How would MK vs DC reboot the franchise? It would completely derail the franchise if you ask me. I mean that literally too, not just that it would MK suck, it would end Mortal Kombat as a stand alone fighting game. Why in the world would Midway want to do that?

Let's see, MK combined with DC comics? A bloody, gory fighting game combined with Superman, the Green Lantern and the Flash?

Okay, let's draw some comparisons to show how absurd this is:

Seriously, do any of those make sense? Combining two franchises that have absolutely nothing in common as far as style or substance goes, epecially when MK is trying to relaunch itself is so utterly stupid and logic defying that I can't believe that any website is buying into this.

I mean honestly, Ed Boon goes through all of this stuff about how MK will be darker, grittier, how we won't see a vast majority of MK characters EVER AGAIN, the MK team gets the Unreal Engine...For this?

You've got to be kidding me. Cyberdog, I don't know if you're here specifically to stir the pot for Midway or if this fake news feed is some disinformation campaign or just rumors run wild, but everything that has actually come from the mouth of Ed Boon, the freakin PROJECT LEAD runs counter to this whole versus idea.

I could never in a million years picture Batman reaching into Superman's chest and ripping out his heart in a video game. Much like I could never see a toned down version of MK where Sub Zero is fighting a Robin and NOT ripping his spine out. The two just don't go together.

Ugh, I can't believe that I've wasted so much time talking about this dumb rumor. MK is a freakin cash cow for Midway, why would they risk pissing off their fan base by promising a revamped MORTAL KOMBAT game and then delivering this idea?

If we cannot trust the company that creates the game, then we should consider every single screenshot or render as fake.

Angry!?!? Oh, yes. This isn't the first time someone has doubted the site for things that were later proven pure truth. But in the meantime everything you hear is: "This is fake", "Lie", and other I will not mention here.

Now imagine you investing your free time for the last 6 years, just to hear these kind of things.

Now, just to make things clear, I didn't wanted to give everything away, but. Here is how this news was born, you decide what is true and what is not. (I will post this later on my site too):

Last night I was showing a few MK things to a friend of mine. Then I decided to check the usual official sources for media and information (Midway's Press Site).

I logged in, and there it was. 5 titles listed for release in the second half of the year.

One of them was Mortal Kombat VS. DC Universe written exactly the way I posted it on MKSecrets.

The section was empty and I decided that this was preparations for MGD that is in just a few days.

So I went and posted the news.

When I refreshed the page, the entire press site was offline. And this morning everything was back to normal with only one game listed for release during the second half of the year.

My suspicion is that someone (the person who updates the press site) accidentally updated the site with information that wasn't suppose to be there yet.

This is the story. Now believe what you want.
All I wrote last night in the news is pure true.

But there are other people who check the site every day, and yet, I was the only one to see it. Which makes me believe that the page was updated by mistake, and then taken down 5-10 minutes later.

That picture is definately fake. I've seen it floating around the internet by some DC fanboys. It's a manip of one of the Batman Begins posters with Superman added. It's supposed to be a fake poster for the never-going-to-happen Batman VS Superman movie thats been in production hell for years.

With that said, I really don't believe Midway would chance making a VS game to reboot one of their most precious franchises after the disaster that is Armageddon. Isn't their company almost in limbo? Do they want to drive themselves into the ground because I really cannot think of maybe more than 100 people who'd even RENT the game, let alone buy it. It'd be like the Burger King game, where it's sold at my local GameStop for 2.99

I don't know the history of MK Secrets, so I won't doubt them just yet, but what were the other games listed as coming out this year? If you saw them you should at least remember one or two.

My only other concern is that there's no trademark for the game...

Hit that link and search for Mortal Kombat. I would think if the game were going to be announced in two days, they would have a trademark for it. However, to be honest, I don't know the exact proceedures for trademarks. i don't know if you can hide a trademark or trademark something after it's been announced (I wouldn't think so).
