I like Kotal Kahn better conceptually, but the way he was handled in the game's story mode was disappointing. D'Vorah on the other hand was this slinky, creepy new villain that really came on the scene and made a name for herself.

Still, my vote went to Kotal. There's a lot they can do with him if they just treat him better in the next game. MKX made him out to be a slightly more level-headed brute than Shao Kahn, but that's about it.

I definitely like both characters and they're a breath of fresh air for new additions. I went with D'Vorah though cause I like the bug/hive mind concept a lot more. She's incredibly fun to play as imo.

Two modern greats, I love them both a lot even if I never got good with either. Voted for Kotal Kahn because I'm very interested in what happens to him next as the new Emperor. Very cool character.

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 1:
Sheeva versus Johnny Cage
#41 Supreme Ranking #9
2 wins 5 losses Record 12 wins 6 losses
Round 3 (2017) Best Result Quarters (2016)

The death of King Gorbak left a void in the once great Kuatan kingdom. Mortal Kombat X tie-in comics told of Goro's fall from grace, and the subsequent rise of a new Shokan Queen: Sheeva! Her reign was instantly tinged with blood as forces loyal to Kotal Kahn decimated the Shokan army. Reluctantly leading the survivors to Shang Tsung's Island, Sheeva witnessed more death at the hands of those possessed by Reiko & Havik. The fate of her reign remains unknown.

With Earthrealm's warriors decimated in the new timeline: Johnny Cage emerged an unlikely champion! Said to be descended from warriors bred to battle gods, he thwarted Shinnok's first invasion of Earthrealm. When the fallen Elder God returned twenty years later, Johnny once again led the fight against evil -- joined by his daughter and a new generation of heroes! Johnny was last seen surviving torture by D'Vorah and reuniting with his family.

Their long journies have made them champions of their people, but will their legend continue into the future? As hostilities escalate between Earthrealm and Outworld, could Sheeva be the next Shokan to menace a generation of mortals? Will Johnny once again enter the tournament to save the world? Choose their destiny! FIGHT!

My last couple of votes have been

Jarek
Kotal Kahn

I thought Kobra was a waste of space, to be honest. Nothing new or novel and I don't really see where they could go with him. And while Jarek was a bit of a Kano-rip off I liked his game play in MK4 and MKA and think he could be an ok character if used well. Get him out of Kano's shadow and make him his own character - maybe make him and Tasia an offshoot duo. The 'find the perfect fatality' thing in MKA was a bit cheesy, I would sort of like him to be this obsessed killing almost psychopathic creepy/serial killer type character.

Kotal Kahn and D'Vorah were pretty solid additions to the roster. No major issues with either, though Kotal was sort of downplayed in the game's story mode I felt. That being said, an Emperor of Outworld who isn't all out for total domination is pretty interesting. D'Vorah just drew the short straw getting him in round 1.

This round Im going for

Sheeva.

I have always really liked Sheeva and she has had a pretty interesting story in the altered timelines. I like how she became Queen in the story mode. And whilst I do like Cage, I feel like they've sort of done all they can with him.

I think Sheeva as queen has a lot of potential and I really hope they expand on it on MK11 am that she's playable. Tha being said I gotta go with the original nut puncher.

johnny cemented himself as my favorite character of MKX, and has always been one of my all time favorites. The personality they gave him in MKX was the ultimate rendition of the character. A cocky smartass that could back it up, instead of a complete goofball jerkoff as represented since MK4.

My vote goes to Johnny, no contest.

Sheeva as queen could be interesting whereas it feels like Johnny has gone as far as he can go and lost some of what made him good in the first place. I would like to see Sheeva in MK11.

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 1:
Kenshi versus Ferra/Torr
#5 Supreme Ranking #36
18 wins 6 losses Record 3 wins 4 losses
Runner-Up (2017) Best Result Round 2 (2015)

The blind sword saint Kenshi resumed a path of redemption in Mortal Kombat X as a member of the Special Forces. Comic book tie-ins told of the tragedy of his wife's murder, which forced him to relinquish his son Takeda to the protection of the Shirai-Ryu clan. In modern day, Kenshi lends his spiritual and kombat skills to thwarting Quan Chi and the forces of Netherrealm. His ending alludes to a possible quest for justice against Red Dragon founder Daegon for the murder of his wife. What else he finds could change the course of reality.

Ferra/Torr is the symbiotic synthesis of diminutive Ferra's devious mind, and the hulking Torr's brutal strength! This strange, savage combination serves Emperor Kotal Kahn with total loyalty. They accompanied the Emperor during his incursion of Earthrealm and if hostilities between the two worlds continue to escalate - could serve as his enforcer against a new generation of mortal warriors!

As Earthrealm grows more aggressive and Outworld resolves to retaliate - could the conflict result in a new Mortal Kombat tournament? Will the sacred sword of Kenshi cut through the competition, or will Ferra/Torr tip the balance in favour of the new Emperor's reign? Choose their destiny! FIGHT!

I live FerraTorr. So I voted for them.

They are my favourites of the new additions in MKX. Although its a shame they werent developed and explored more. I really like the tag team idea and their fighting style and want to learn more about their race.

Kenshi for me has always been a bit bland. Behind the blind swordsman thing there isnt that much to him that interested me. He has such a vanilla personality in MKX tpo and is sort of always just there.

Kenshi.

From the moment they were first shown, I never liked Ferra/Tor. I only ever played as Ferra/Tor twice in MKX throughout all the two years+ I invested into it.

Kenshi is that one landmark character from the 3D era who was just so cool conceptually. I remember still how excited the entire community was about him when Midway began leaking all the concept art. He finally has a personality thanks to MKX, and I dig his snarkiness. He's one of my favorites all around.

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 1:
Kano versus Li Mei
#24 Supreme Ranking #55
5 wins 6 losses Record 1 win 6 losses
Round 2 (2012) Best Result Round 2 (2014)

The Black Dragon lives on, but Kano could be facing a life behind bars after Mortal Kombat X! The mortal villain capitalized on civil war in Outworld, profiting from his alliance with new Emperor: Kotal Kahn. In truth, Kano was playing both sides all aong, escaping the conflict by hiding himself amongst refugees seeking asylum in Earthrealm. Apprehended by the Special Forces, Kano supplied vital intel as he was taken into custody. With rumors of a rift with other Black Dragon members, it remains to be seen if Kano will escape.

Li Mei was among the Outworld refugees whose village was destroyed by the power of Empress Mileena. Granted asylum in Earthrealm, she shared her account with the Special Forces, informing them of the danger posed by Shinnok's Amulet, and leading them to Kano's arrest. Her fighting skills were proven in the original timeline, but if new conflict should ever break out between her adopted home and Outworld, whose side would she serve?

The ruthless rogue Kano fought in the Mortal Kombat tournament, but his loyalties were never to Earthrealm. Li Mei fled the realm of Outworld, but if Kotal Kahn called upon her skills, would she fight to defend her home? Choose their destiny! FIGHT!

Kano remains severely underrated despite being an all-time classic. He's definitely the character that suffered the most in MKX from having his moveset spread too thin across variations, but he was still pretty fun to play regardless. His new heart in MKX planted the idea in my head that he could continue extending his life by augmenting himself with cybernetics, and I want to see him return and go even further down that path. There are a few cyborg characters in MK, but none that have willingly undergone procedures of their own accord.

And it may go without saying, but my last vote went to Kenshi, the best Mortal Kombat character.

Kano forever. My 2nd favorite of all time behind Baraka and my main in both MK9 and MKX. While I prefer his game play in 9 a lot more, I love to play as him still in X. Great moveset. Great costumes. The voice actor nails the role. He's everyone's favorite sleazeball.

I really enjoyed Kano’s commando variation, and while being a classic doesn’t really carry much weight for me, I do enjoy what an evil, opportunistic bastard he is, and I’ll be really curious what his son might be like and how these two would interact if they’re in the same game.

I like Li Mei’s background, and I also dug her revamp, so I really hope to see her in the next game. I voted for Kano, simply because I feel like he has so much going for him right now and also in general, which I think kinda tops Li Mei’s potential.

Part of me wants Kano out of MK XI and Li Mei in, so it’s a bit close.

Kano. Probably the biggest mismatch so far. It's not even close.

I voted for Ferra/Torr last time for gameplay reasons but I knew they were gonna get crushed.

Kano.

He is my all-time favorite villain character in MK. I've loved playing as him since MK1. I enjoyed all of his variations in MKX and even though his role in the story seemed to mostly be minor side-villain, I really enjoyed his personality. His interactions with other characters during pre-match conversations were among the very best.

Li Mei is sorely underrated and needs to make a comeback. I know some people balked at her appearance in MKX because MKDA/MKD made her look like a glamorously beautiful asian female, whereas in MKX she was looking rather...homely. Fitting, considering she was a refugee. But I know that her appearance, much like Tanya's, caused a stir. If she returns as a playable character in MKXI (which I am hoping), they'll probably make her look better.
