I love Kitana's gameplay. Very smooth and damaging if done right.

Her primary outfit is great. Her alternate, not so much, in my opinion.

Story mode- VERY disappointed. I hate that I as a player was given a chapter as her, only to have her just casually killed off as a character. It's not the death of her itself that I mind... this IS Mortal Kombat, after all. But to invest such time in her character just to have her thrown away so casually tells me that as a player, it doesn't matter who or what I do... it will mean nothing. Had she been given a solid death where it wasn't a force of nature on one side and poor worthless characters on the other... that'd have been better.

I don't think it can be argued that NRS hates Kitana... she's gotten a lot of love in this game. (I'm not counting story mode... but that's all opinion anyhow.)

Her ape slut look/costumes, her uninspired moves borrowed from other females/stupid faint low kicks that do NOT look/work like specials (but normals), her cliched and boring storyline and her lame ass fatalities.

I would live if they gave her a personality as the one she had in MK Defenders of the realm. I watched the series (Not complete) a few days ago, and it was amazing because i always had imagine Kitana that way. Well, always before MKDA ruined her.

Please don't make this Kitana thread into a Sonya v.s. Kitana war. They're both great in their own ways and are some of the most iconic ladies in MK.

On topic, they don't hate Kitana, they gave her a story mode chapter and a great deal of relevance in story mode(why do that for a character you detest?). Her gameplay is great, she has all her classic moves.

I can see the disappointment that they retconned a great deal of her story in favor of letting Raiden have greater influence over manipulating time, but that happened with many characters.

She died in story mode( so did a ton of people). Sub-Zero died too and he's been in every single game, they just wanted to shake things up and build Shinnok up as a greater threat, that's really what it boils down to and we'll probably see them all return in MK 11 in their normal forms.

I don't think it's hate. NRS simply does not have good writers.

Kitana is not the only one suffering from terrible character progression in this game. Everything about this new timeline reads like poorly implemented fan fiction. The butterfly effect that so many reference as a way to make the changes acceptable doesn't exist, as half of the things that have been switched around are in no way a result of Raiden's tampering. And the worst part about all of this? I get the general impression that NRS ACTUALLY thinks this storyline is an improvement.

There has been fan outcry since MK:DA to make Kitana more of the badass assassin/princess portrayed in MK2 and MK3, and they haven't done it. So they also don't listen to the fans as much as they'd like us to believe.

Don't get me wrong - I'm a huge fan of the gameplay. But the Mortal Kombat lore, the thing that has kept me a fan through many of the series' years of poor fighting mechanics, has just been utterly shat upon, and Kitana has indeed been shat upon; but she's certainly not alone.

She died in story mode. She got her rivalry with Mileena retconned/removed. She got faint low kicks as special moves, FUCKING LOL. She's not even top 10 on most used characters in the game, Sonya is top 5, results are on the official site. She's got a freaking UGLY, monster-ish, weird hair. She got two FUCKING LAME ASS costumes (one ripped off from Jade, and the other one ripped off from Mileena). She's got a tranny-like face that looks like an ape, and MJ nose.

Meh, I think being a Sonya fan and seeing the girl "perfect in all ways" when in fact she's getting worse and worse each chapter is much worse. I really loved Sonya in MK1-MK4, in MKDA-MKA she was ok, but now she completely turned into a manly lesbian-looking Nina Williams clone with horrible costumes and lame fatalities (the dental floss one is nearly the worst in the game). Seriously Kitana improved since MKA and MK/DC a lot. I don't see any improvements with Sonya. Must be depressing for her fans...
