My idea might be somewhat difficult to work, but: a little replica of the dragon that Liu Kang holds in his palm in his victory pose. Its iconic as well as neutral. Making a character, although of course cool, will never please everyone because we all have different favourites

If they make his MK3 pose look like his halfway in a defensive stnce, and him looking ferociously at the ThunderGod, then I'm all for it.

Yeah, make him look ferocious so he goes down with dignity.

And maybe they could add Johnny Cage in there too, staring at Raiden in awe as his life is saved.

That would be awesome.

I would want one of Kano rebuilding Kabal on the operating chair/table thing.

My submission is a diorama of Kung Lao doing his vertical hat slice fatality on any opponent in the Dead Pool. Kung Lao would be utilizing his main MK9 attire.

Just to give you an idea, the poses of the figures would be something like this:



The victims body could also look it it's splitting in two, as shown here:



Flying blood could be modeled to look like it's emanating from the victims slice wound. Blood would also be splattered on Kung Lao and his hat.

Maybe Liu kang in Dragon form about to bite someone?

I would definetely like a statue of Johnny cage holding his own statue.

Motaro from mk2011 as an exclusive would be awesome!

No one in the world has done a motaro figure before!

Kano Noob Saibot or Hornbuckle vs Blaze on the Pit.

I would be interested in a Goro statue.....maybe holding an an opponent with his lower arms and pounding him with his upper arms. Something like that. I would also vote for Kenshi just because of his blindfold and sword, seems like it would make for a cool statue.

Remember, it's good to throw our own ideas out there but we eventually need to decide on 5 ideas as a community.

We really need to think this through!

Considering they are already planning on creating special statues and busts for individual characters, I think it would be wiser to request something that's actually unique and special.

This is something that WE have the opportunity to CREATE. Think about it.

So, how do fans feel about a:

MK Diorama Statue?

This is a unique ONE TIME opportunity to request AND create something special. Something different.

I think that most fans would benefit from a special MK Diorama featuring more than just one single thing. Instead of having their single favorite character sculpted (which, by the looks of it, is very likely to get his/her own sculpt at the moment), why not have a sculpture that gives us more of MK in all its glory?

With a Diorama, we would get ALL of this in just ONE:

* A special and stunning MK Background come to life (full of details).
* 2 or even more characters in battle/interaction (not just a single one!).
* Special unique poses for the characters which could include special moves or even Fatalities.

For anyone who doesn't know what a Diorama is, I urge you to take a look:

That being said:

Tyrant, I feel like we should have a very thought-through poll regarding the creation of this MKO statue.

1) We should start seeing/voting how many fans are actually interested in having a single sculpture of an individual, or an actual Diorama featuring a background and possibly 2 or more characters.

2) We should then move on to the specifics:

a) If most fans prefer an individual character: which one? doing what?

Example 1: Sindel in her MK9 primary costume levitating with her super long hair flying around her entire body (like a whirlwind) and special purple powers coming out of her hands

Example 2: Johnny Cage performing his trademark shadow kick in his MK9 primary costume while holding his Oscar statue.

b) If most fans prefer a special Diorama: which characters? What MK background/arena? doing what? What details in the arena? etc.

Example 1: Jax (doing his ground pound) and Sonya (doing her kiss move) facing off Kano (holding his knifes) and/or Sektor (throwing his missiles) in the street arena with the "Oni Destroyer" tearing up the building, helicopter in view chaced by dragon, + the river with destroyed cars and boats

Example 2: Ermac (surrounded by souls) and Quan Chi resurrecting Sindel in the Desert Arena complete with Cyrax in background and Sindel Statue/Edenian ruins

Example 3:MK1 Tournament idea: MK9's Shang Tsung's throne room (him seated) with the rain and island view in the background included with Liu Kang, Johnny, and Sonya ready to face off an angry and big Goro. Possible extra background characters looking at the fight: Kitana, Jade, Ermac, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Raiden.

Sounds ambitious, I know, but, keep in mind those are quite valid and potential possibilities.

What do you guys think?

Tyrant, what do you say about a more specific poll and thought-through plan to see what the majority of fans would prefer to see created?

I got to say, id love a kabal or rain statue and would get itifit wasmade, but there is one character highly underrepresented in this mk game....

Motaro is in both appearance and media disregarded, he even didnt appear in the artbook, so if anyone deserves it its him, atleast let him go out with a bang (from what i can see he looks pretty badass in mk9)

The only problem with deciding on a diorama (while aesthetically an excellent idea) is that we as a community ALSO have to preorder 100 of the finished product. Given the price of even the cheapest listed item, (10" posed statuette at $164. 99 before discount) a complete diaroma would be a SUBSTANTIAL amount of money.

If that's the case I doubt 100 of us would be able to commit to a purchase no matter how well done it was. I know I couldn't.

I did have an idea for the diaroma, but I didn't want this "$" to skyrocket.

Anyways maybe something like this:






Something along the lines of the battle by the pyramid would make a sweet diorama.

Good points, but, wouldn't the price also depend on the size and amount of work put into it? It doesn't have to be super big, imo.

I think that a reasonable price for a reasonable diorama is not out of the question.

It wouldn't have to necessarily be something over the top detailed and huge. A more simple one could still provide a lot more uniqueness and character diversity and appeal to more fans than a 1 single individual.

But, yes, money is indeed an issue that needs to be considered.

As has been stated I think a key aspect of this is the fact that it's going to be the most rare of all these collectibles, so why not add to that lure by making it something unique...not just a popular character that will probably get a statue anyway......I think we need to consider where in the time-line we want to focus, what type of concept (a battle stance? a special move? a victory pose?) and finally how we can make this feel unique and special....I think using an obvious or already iconic character kind of squanders this opportunity. I love the idea of focusing on the Kitana/Mileena MK2 style....I also think it's worth exploring to do something with one of the bosses battling a character.....there's going to be so many abstract and great ideas being thrown out...so I think it's important we look at the big picture of when/where/who then break down the more subtle details to make this as unique as possible.

I would love a Kenshi statuette with him striking a pose with his sword, and with his other hand, he could be touching his head like in this photo, to focus his telekinesis.

I'd buy, like, seven of those if they existed.

I wouldn't mind seeing sonya in her mk9 alt. sitting on top of a jet plane (one leg dangling down the jets side the other with her knee up) looking out into the "sky"

(it doesn't have to include the entire jet maybe just the front or where ever she is sitting on)

Okay, after reading queve's idea, I say a battle set, cause holy balls that's awesome. Probably of all the MK1 characters or a battle at the pyramid.

A statuette of Smoke in his Enenra form would be awesome. It'd probably one of the more unique statuettes simply because it was one of the more unexpected endings to a character. "Hey, here's this guy you knew for years who's now a smoke demon". It could look pretty cool.
