XBox 360 Achievements Announced - Complete Roster Revealed!

Xbox360achievements.org has revealed the Achievements one can accomplish in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, and as a result have also revealed as of yet unannounced characters by Midway! Achievements, as XBox 360 owners know, are a way to improve your Gamer Score on XBox Live. Games have a list of Achievements varying in difficulty and each such Achievement you complete will reward you with a set number of points. In MKvsDCU, many Achievements deal directly with mastering particular characters on the game's roster. Embedded in this list of characters, presumably a list of all the playable characters in the game, are the final four characters that had yet to be revealed. From the Mortal Kombat side of things, the nomadic Tarkatan Baraka and the emperor of Outworld himself Shao Kahn join the cast. From DC, Superman's arch nemesis Lex Luthor and cosmic force Darkseid step into the light.

Among the list of Achievements rests one that awards 100 points, tied for the largest in the game. "Special Moves Pro" Achievement states, "Do all special moves including jf’s". It is currently unknown what "jf" stands for, but it likely is not a character.

We have contacted Midway in attempt to confirm or deny this story, so any confusion may be put to rest.

EDIT: We have received official confirmation from Midway that this story is legitimate. An update will be forthcoming.

MKast #6 Released

A brand new MKast has just been released on the official Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe website. Once again Hans and Hector host the new podcast. Senior game designer John Edwards and MK co-creator John Tobias also join in on the fun and reveal information about character stances and game play as well as new information on the comic book and arenas.

Notable snippets in the MKast is the return to MK2 glory for Kitana and the hint at multiple fatalities per character. Rage Mode is also discussed in depth and is said to be more balanced than previously thought. To listen to the newest MKast click here.

As always our thanks to the MK team for taking the time to make the MKasts and thanks to forum member for the lead on this story. We will keep you updated as more news is released.

Noob.com Updates With Two More Cinematic Screenshots!

Ed Boon's official website Noob.com has updated with two more images from the upcoming Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe! These two images join the image previously posted of Liu Kang and Scorpion, and are presumably from the game's cinematics. The first image, with a filename of "adversary.jpg", shows Sonya, Jax, and Liu Kang facing Raiden, as the thunder god points off to something off-screen. The second image, called "betrayal.jpg", shows Sub-Zero climbing a stone wall to reach a battle arena. It's not known at present what the filenames mean in relation to the story; "adversary" could mean the characters are about to face an enemy as indicated by Raiden, but the use of "betrayal" for the Sub-Zero picture is a mystery.

Midway Releases Two Screenshots from MKvDCU With Scorpions Fatality!

The folks over at Midway have released two new screenshots from the upcoming Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe! This time, the two screenshots share a common theme; in them, Scorpion is performing his signature Toasty fatality on Sub-Zero! While set up and executed the same as in previous Mortal Kombats, this fatality is most like the Mortal Kombat 4 version of the fatality, where the victim's body says intact aside from the fact that it is covered in flames.

Our thanks to Midway for releasing these new screenshots!

Noob.com Updates with Liu Kang and Scorpion!

Mortal Kombat co-creator and team lead Ed Boon has updated his personal website, Noob.com, with another image concerning the upcoming Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe! Unlike the last update to his site, which featured only the word "RAGE!" (which was subsequently explained at Leipzig Game Convention), this update is a bit more straight-forward. This image shows a dramatic confrontation between Liu Kang and Scorpion. Liu Kang is in the background, standing, as if anticipating a fight. Scorpion, on the other hand, is in the foreground, staring at his hands. The expression and body language is synonymous with the cliche of someone saying, "What have I done?"

It is presumed that this image is from a cinematic, possibly in story mode. Any more than that is conjecture at this point, however. If we learn more, we'll be sure to report it here.

Our thanks to forum/chat member for the heads-up about this update!
