GamesRadar Posts Six Minutes of Slaughter, Featuring EVERY Fatality!

In preparation for the pending release of Midway's Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, GamesRadar has posted a new video commemorating Mortal Kombat. This video, however, instead of showing gameplay from MK: Armageddon, shows every single fatality from every single MK tournament fighter from Mortal Kombat 1 all the way up to Mortal Kombat: Deception! Entitled "Six Minutes of Slaughter", the video actually lasts over seven minutes and features 231 fatalities, stage fatalities, and hara kiris!

GameDaily Posts First Review of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon!

Days before the official release of Midway's upcoming fighting game Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, GameDaily has posted what appears to be the first review of the game! The review goes into some detail on the first page, followed by a short summary and the score on the second. The review doesn't go into too much detail about the game outside of what is already known, but the review is overwhelmingly positive. About the only thing the review did not find favorable was the online play; on the other hand, the reviewer made it clear that he couldn't connect to the network and find opponents, and would test it next week when the game is actually released. Overall, the game earned four and a half out of five stars! The one-minute version of the review sums the detailed version quite decently. From the review:

MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!! Midway (Ed Boon and his team, rather) have once again served up a deliciously violent 3D brawler with plenty of over the top shenanigans. Mortal Kombat Armageddon is fantastic for so many reasons. It's got the largest roster of any MK with 60 plus fighters, a great selection of interactive arenas, and of course, lots and lots of gore. You can knock guys into pools of acid, push them into oncoming trains, and watch them get shredded by meat grinders. Of course, you can also punish them with fatalities, and what's especially cool about this year's batch is the level of interactivity. Instead of just watching a canned animation, you can link up your attacks, which is really sweet. Past all of that stuff, Konquest returns, but it's much more like Shaolin Monks, with you scouring the globe kicking the crap out of everyone. The Krypt also makes a triumphant return, and there's just a ton of things to unlock. But the biggest features in this game are the Kreate-A-Fighter, Kreate-A-Fatality, and Online modes. It's about time Midway included stuff like this! So yeah, go buy MK Armageddon ASAP! It's one of the major reasons why the PS2 still has plenty of life residing within its dusty innards.

Cinder Posts Three MK: Armageddon Loading Screens! (10/06/06)

Cinder, from the official Midway Boards, has posted three new loading screens over the course of the day! These screens feature some new arenas, an alternate costume and many KAFs:

In the first image, the oni, Drahmin, goes to battle with a female KAF (with a new green tint) in with what appears to be The Tomb arena from Mortal Kombat 2. The second image features two female KAFs in different colours battling in an unknown arena, of note there is a Scorpion imprinted on the back wall. Finally, Noob Saibot and Frost prepare to do battle in another unidentified arena. In this image, we see that Noob has retained his alternate costume from Mortal Kombat: Deception.

Official MK Armageddon Site Updated With Two New Koncepts!

There is yet again another two-part update from the official MK: Armageddon site! This time, we are treated to two unreleased concepts from the upcoming game, including a look at a location and MKA's Title Screen idea:

The first image is titled as the Dragon Cave, which appears to be a location within MKA's Konquest mode. In this cave, we see the dragon Orin closely watching an enshrined Taven, as foreign script glows around his confinements. The concept features three close up captions near the bottom of Orin, Taven and the mysterious writings.

The second image shows us a glimpse of the MK: Armageddon title screen! This image is a silhouette, featuring the Mortal Kombat characters stacked in a pile, with one character standing at the top victorious. The MK logo shines brightly in the background, and above reads the title of the game. Though this image is a silhouette, many MK characters can be noticed due to their unique appearances.

There are now only three slots remaining on the current version of the hidden question mark menu. To view the page, click here.
