The official MK: Armageddon website has now added all the characters who will be appearing in this installment of the Mortal Kombat series. The final roster, of course, is 62. Below is a list of the newly added characters. Unlike the other characters, they do not yet have working demonstration videos:

  • Ashrah
  • Bo Rai Cho
  • Chameleon
  • Cyrax
  • Daegon
  • Darrius
  • Frost
  • Hotaro
  • Hsu Hao

  • Mavado
  • Meat
  • Mileena
  • Mokap
  • Motaro
  • Noob
  • Reptile
  • Sheeva

To find the Characters section, click on The Game menu after the site loads. The announcer will say the character's name that you click the icon of and a render will be displayed. Of note, there are currently a few misspellings and it appears the name "Noob Saibot" has been simply shortened to "Noob". Kung Lao also appears to be using his MK:SM costume as his main, as that is the render used for him on the selection panel.

Official MK Armageddon Site Updated With Two More Koncept Arts!

The official MK: Armageddon website has updated once again with a double dose of concept art from the soon-to-be released game! The screenshots take a look at the beloved Wastelands arena and a glance at MK:A's 'Ultimate Krypt', The Vault!

In the first image we see a character (Taven, apparently) walking through a hallway towards a room that is lined with skull lanterns. Through the entry, one can see the wall panels mentioned in the past concerning The Vault. This is where the actual items unlocked can be viewed. The second concept is an overhead view of the memorable Wastelands arena, which makes its long-awaited return in MK: Armageddon. The catapults are noticably visable and the two small characters represent where the combat will take place within this stage.

Cinder Posts Four More Versus Screens from MK: Armageddon!

Once again, over on the Midway Boards, Cinder has posted three new versus/loading screens from the soon-to-be-released Mortal Kombat: Armageddon! The first shows Bo'Rai Cho and Reiko getting ready to face one-another. The second features two residents of Orderrealm: the resistance fighter Darrius and the Seidan Guardsman Hotaru. The third image features Sub-Zero preparing to fight his family's old enemy, Shinnok!

To see the original forum threads in which these images were posted, click here for the Bo'Rai Cho/Reiko thread, here for the Darrius/Hotaru thread, and here for the Sub-Zero/Shinnok thread.

Our thanks to forum members and for the heads-up about these new images!

EDIT - 4:42 PM CDT - Apparently Cinder decided to post a fourth versus screen, in another user's post. This versus screen shows old archenemies Kano and Sonya about to go at it!

Our thanks to forum member (for whom the versus screen was actually posted!) for letting us know about this new versus screen!

Cinder Posts Three New MK: Armageddon Loading Screens! (10/02/2006)

Cinder, from the official Midway Boards, has posted a new versus screen! In this image, we see the bosses of the latest two Mortal Kombat fighting games preparing to battle:

MK: Armageddon boss Blaze prepares to battle the boss of MK: Deception, Onaga. Of note, Blaze overshadows one of the largest MK characters in history in this screen comparison.

In the second image Kitana, fans drawn, is ready to combat a male KAF. Finally, Shao Kahn and Reiko, complete with eerily similar poses and weapons, prepare for a final showdown.

Official MK Armageddon Site Updated With Two Koncept Arts!

The official MK: Armageddon website has been updated in the form of two new pieces of artwork available on the site's hidden menu. First, we take an indepth look at everyone's favourite forgotten cop, Stryker!

In this artwork, we are shown what thoughts went into the redesign of Stryker's primary costume. The rather clear goal was to give Stryker a "cooler" appearance than he had in Mortal Kombat 3, which is signified by the appearance of his original MK3 costume in the lower right portion of the concept. Changes and additions to Stryker include a tone figure, gloves, boots, kneepads, supply pouches, comm link headset and the switch from a cap/nightstick combination to the use of Kabar knives and bandana.

The second image is another concept art from the mini-game Motor Kombat.

Here we see a higher resolution screenshot of the Ice Arena featured in many previous updates. The town can be seen clearly here as Raiden, whose cart is more like a hovercraft infused with the power of lightning, leads Sub-Zero around the track.
