I really think it's not so bad of a game. Sure it's not MKT-type gameplay, but it's like UMK3 in a MK1 type. I'd even say it's one of the best Mortal Kombat translations to the Game Boy system(s) and I hate how some people make it out the be the Anti-Christ itself. Try it, and don't run off EGM's opinions.

Dude, people ain't just running off EGM's opinions. Just about everyone who plays the game (present company excluded) hates it, and thinks it's a crappy game. I'm with you though, it's an ok game, as for being "one of the best Mortal Kombat translations to the Game Boy system" I'd have to disagree. The first MK was ok on GB, and MK:TE is 10 times better, so is MK:DA.

I'm not really in favor of those type of games. I strongly dislike 3D MK's, and to be honest, Deception looks refreshing due to an improved Konquest and Online Play. I always preferred 2D MK's more, maybe thats why I like MKA.

I can't get passed Motaro either, with anyone, I try to shoot him with projectiles, but he disappears before they can hit him, then re-appears and kills me.

Projectiles bounce off him anyway.

Well, if he's open, do a combo by running up to him. Do some jump kicks, stuff like that. He's hard, especially on the GBA version, because the AI is shit.

i have a few questions for those who have MK:A

1. can u do the combos for each character?
2. if i recall correctly, the GBA only has 2 buttons and 2 shoulder buttons, how is there a HP, LP, HK, and LK?
3. is the fighting engine the same as UMK3 arcade?

1) Yeah, I think so

2) HP is either A or B
LP is either L or R
HK is either A or B
LK is either L or R

3) Never played UMK3 so I can't say, but the fighting engine is like MK3 so it probablly is like UMK3 then!?

1. There are combos, but are not done like how they are in the consoles. They're different. And hard to do (the computer has no problem however).

2. True... 2 buttons, 2 shoulder buttons. There isn't really a Low Kick and High Kick, or High Punch and Low Punch. Just Punch and Kick... yet you still can perform say... a normal kick, a sweep kick, a roundhouse kick, etc. It just requires a direction. For instance, a normal kick is just "A"... but a roundhouse kick is holding the TOWARD down and pressing A. Punch is a little different... tho it does have uppercuts and normal punching. L and R are run and block.

3. Fighting engine is LIKE the arcade version... I guess. Its not something completely new. Just like SNES MK3/UMK3. Only this one is harder to perform moves and the A.I. gets insanely annoying/hard, even on very easy.

Hope this helped.

Mortal Kombat Advance is the biggest load of Garbage I think Midway has ever released. The game is unplayable and in my opinion deserved the 0.0 rating from Electronic Gaming Monthly.

The game is unplayable. NOT like the Arcade.

A quick buck was looking to be made, and throwing anything with the MK name on it, would do the job, disregard quality. Nintendo should have never placed their so important seal of quality on that POS.

If you like it thats cool, but face facts, its horrible.

I apologize in advance. I am very harsh opinions on this :)

I liked it when I first got it but after a while it did kinda suck. Two things bother me about it. Its basically imposible to beat unless on easy mode and you have to turn the brightness way up to be able to see it.

Just use your GBA Sp with the light on, and you'll be able to see it, and btw, even on easy mode, it's impossible to beat!
