Anyone going to e-mail Midway over the shitbomb that tries to pass as MAT2?

I kind of feel bad posting and posting and posting about how horrible this game is. Don't I ever get tired of it? Answer is no. Hell no. And for once, I'm actually considering emailing Midway and giving them some hell. They need to be taken down a couple pegs. I already know one person emailed. Anyone else ticked off enough to do it?
Hey, maybe if we bitch enough, they'll re-release MAT2 with no bugs.
Arcade perfect, know what I'm saying?
Sure you do.

No use bombarding Midway with e-mails about how they've screwed up MAT2. No use starting petitions either. Because Midway is one of those "now that we're done with it we never have to worry about it again" type of companies. We can bitch all we want, but Midway isn't gonna do shit about it. Maybe unless we gather all the MK fans in the entire world and threaten not to buy MK7 unless they do something about MAT2. But I highly doubt that's gonna happen.

At the very least, the fighters play very well. I was able to do all my old MK3 combos off without a hitch and the game looks very good, MK2 is very nice as well, just the shadow thing and I never pay attention to that anyway. It doesn't happen all the time either. Primal Rage was perfect as far as I could tell, I had a blast when I fired that up the first time, a few minutes ago. The only thing that bugs me are the Smoke in MK2 and 3 things, how to fight him in 2 and how to save him in 3.

I was playing MK2 and I was at the portal got the toasty and I hit down and start and I got the options screen.

Ya rehab thats one of the major problems
in fact I'm going to compile a list of everything wrong with ALL the games, as comprehensive as possible and email it to them and say
"here look, a few probs woulda been ok. But 148 problems sucks!" or something. Then I'm going to email it to them every week, start a petition and call them every week.

Lord up in heaven! To all of you bitching about the Smoke thing: really, who cares!? Pop in MKT and play him there for christ's sake. Tell you one thing I won't be playing the SNES or Genesis version of MK2 ever again after playing this gem because I'll be damned if I shell out thousands for the MK2 arcade. Smoke? Find him in the the living forest, makes no difference. Picky picky!

Re-realease MAT 2? Write a letter? Jeeze. Keep in mind that MK II and MK 3 on MAT 2 are about a buck a piece. Excellent deal if I may say so myself.
Whoever said Midway wouldn't care, you're wrong. Remember MKT? 2 versions for that. Mortal Kombat Gold? 2 versions. They did release fixes for those 2 games, and they sure as hell could for MAT2. Considering how easy these bugs would be to fix, it would be well worth it. I fail to understand how a random select was incorporated for MK3, but not 2.
And a buck a piece they may be, but I wouldn't put my 16.00 or so up for glitchy shadows, audio problems, the inability to fight my favorite secret character, and being forced to reenter the Ultimate Kombat Kode for Smoke in MK3. The only reason I picked up the game was because I paid 2 bucks for it. And I still feel gypped as an MK fan.
We have every right to be pissed.
So who's starting the petition?

Right here.
If they released 2 versions of MKT and MKG, I'd like to know how that re-release was brought about so we could do the same to initiate that. (If it was the fans that were involved that is)
Even thought I shouldn't, I would be willing to pay another 20 bucks for the perfect version of MAT2 if I had to.

This is what Midway gets for releasing a dozen of their best games ever for 20 bucks... Stop whining. There's NOTHING wrong with MAT2 and no big flaws in playability. Go complain about something else already.

Sure, except the fact you can't fight Smoke in MKII, which pissed off, if I remember correctly, a lot people. And I personally experience some slowdown while playing MK3. And all those other glitches that were mentioned.

Good call there, I kept thinking the same thing when I heard everyone complaining about how "we KNOW midway won't fix it cuz they're midway and they r gay." When in reality, Midway has an impressive track record for fixing things. How often do you see a bug-fixed re-issue for a CONSOLE game? It's actually quite rare. And among that small number of instances, Midway has done it TWICE. Of course you could say "there wouldn't have been bugs in the first place if Midway wasn't lazy wtf lol"... but don't kid yourself, there are many companies other than midway that release buggy products, which NEVER get fixed.
With that said... I actually don't think Midway will fix this one... just because it's an emulation thing, and kind of a different issue than a standard home port. HOWEVER, the point I'm making is that it's dumb to claim that Midway won't fix it "just because it's Midway."

Jeeeez. How many times does this need to be explained.
There is shit wrong with the game whether you want to admit it or not. If your happy with it, fine. Others are not and have a right to be. We've been over this a dozen times in a dozen different threads.
I swear, it's like teaching Japanese to an inanimate object with some people.

Hello,
I am writing in regards to the release of Midway Arcade Treasures 2. I am a long-time supporter of Midway's releases, more specifically the Mortal Kombat series. When I first heard of the release of MAT2, I was pleased to know that Mortal Kombat II and 3, along with many other great games would be at last released in a collection for the fans to enjoy.
However, as you know, there have been issues regarding the game; glitches and bugs which have caused many gamers such as myself dismay. The errors in the game are relatively minor on their own, but combined, have been enough to cause a noticeable amount of dissatisfaction amongst customers.
The more noticeable errors in the game are as follows:
The inability to fight the secret character Smoke in Mortal Kombat II due to the control scheme - this is perhaps the biggest issue, and what has caused the most dissatisfaction, I believe.
The lack of the random select feature in Mortal Kombat II due to the same issue
The flickering shadows on the floor which are present in Mortal Kombat II and 3
The inability to save the secret character Smoke in Mortal Kombat 3 to a memory card once he is unlocked
The bacground music for both Mortal Kombat II and 3 has been known to stop entirely at times - I have experienced this most often when the timer for the rounds hits 25 seconds, and it always cuts out during the end credits in both games as well (this was also present in the emulation of Mortal Kombat I, released with the game Mortal Kombat Deception Premium Pack/Collector's edition)
Minor slowdown during MK3
The game's freeze caused during play of Primal Rage once the character Vertigo performs a certain finishing move on the character Armadon
There are other errors as well, but these are the most noticeable and more troublesome ones.
My point is this: I believe that Midway Games have a commitment to quality and excellence in their releases, and I am aware that in the past, games such as Mortal Kombat Trilogy and Mortal Kombat Gold experienced glitches and errors as well. Midway made the correct decision in the past by releasing later versions of those games with the glitches repaired.
I urge Midway to do the same for Midway Arcade Tresures II, to repair the above errors and omissions. I would be more than willing to purchase the game a second time if I knew for certain I could enjoy a flawless experience with the games that I have come to enjoy playing. I know that many other gamers feel this way as well, and I would be more than willing to start any petitions or such necessary to convince Midway that this is the case. The fan community would appreciate such a re-release greatly. Please consider my request.

I too sent a similar letter explaining every glitch on every game in MAT2 to Midway. I also urged them to either rerelease MAT2 with all the fixes, and distribute it freely to those who allready bought it like MK Gold. Do an even swap, or rerelease the MK games seperately next time done by a company that is willing to go the extra mile in order to make gamers happy, and not disappointed. Remember one thing about Smoke in MKII. Since he is not accessable anymore, why in the world would they leave him in the forest, and let him appear to give clues to his whereabouts?

It is upsetting that there is a need for a rerelease.

Kick ass letter Shadaloo. You beat me to it. You forgot about the horribly muffled music in MK3 though. (One of my biggest pet peeves)
It's ok though, there's so many small mix-ups that we're sure to forget one............... or ten.

This is just a rumor thats going around, but Ed Boon i guess has been thinking of doing some sort of MK anthology disc, or two, that have flawless versions of the classic games, 1 through 3, and umk3. Midway team themselves will do it, unlike MAT2 that was done by another company. So I guess my only point is that maybe boon and crew didn't care how MAT2 turned out, cause they had the plan on releasing the anthology pack or whatever. Once again this is rumor, but from trustable sources.
In the anthology it is rumored to have option menus and the whole home version deal, but the games are up to date and arcade perfect. I don't know if that means they will be ported, or a doctored emulation. Don't chew me out for these comments, cause it's still just a rumor. but if it's true then it's a good thing.

Well if that's true then ok I guess. My only issue is that it should've been done right the first time through instead of me having to pay extra money for all the MK's again. Ten bucks for MK1 on the MKD PP and twenty bucks for MAT2. Now, if an anthology comes out, I'll be forking more money over to Midway because I like MK so much. And also, I'm stupid like that.
Hey, don't let the fact that I mailed them first stop ya. Send one nevertheless, and mention the stuff I left out. The more E-mails they get, the better the chance we'll see them do something about the whole thing.

What about music playing on top of each other in MK3? Like, playing 2 player, one guy loses, let's counter run out, other guy puts in intials, starts 1 player game, and the music from the buy in screen and the keyboard screen are playing on top of the bg music during the first fight?
