I was wondering, because ive never played one in the aracade. I always thought it would be harder to do moves, is it?

Yes the joystick is very different. Try playing Tekken in the arcades compared to the PS2. The home controllers are much better, and easier to do the moves.

The consoles never, ever will reach the joy of playing a MK game on Arcade,i remember those days and i smile, there you knew how good you were against another person in a match, the Arcade Stick is another reason why i loved so much playing in arcades rather tan console.Dont know about others, but those good ol' days were the best of MK for me.

I just played Joust and Defender on an Arcade Machine and it was l lot fiunner than on my ps2. but moves are harder to controll.

You have to try and find an arcade machine near you and attempt to play people, at least in UMK3. There's nothing like playing against a group of people, rotating, putting up quarters, laughing, having a good time, ooh and ahing. DreemerNJ has been working on a map and locations of MK machines, mostly UMK3 for now. There's a whole thread dedicated to listing locations and many of them aren't on the map yet, eventually it will be quite comprehensive.

And here is the beta for the Map.

The map is powered by Google. And Google does not seem to want to provide for citizens of your country. I'm afraid we don't have any other system to use for making the map

I only played a few of the Mortal Kombat games in the Arcade...So obviously I've played more of the Home console games..., I believe that the home console versions are better. But I do believe that some of the controls for some of the systems for fighting in the MK games are pretty ridiculous and to try and do them is like going through a minefield for me sometimes. I might just be a beginner sometimes...But, I haven't played an MK arcade game in a long time. The last one I played was Mortal Kombat 4...a long time ago. But, again...My choice would have to be home console.

I've always just found playing the games on the consoles more fun, 'cause I've never been able to make the joystick do the things I want it to do, that or around here in the arcades, half the joysticks are screwed up anyway.

Here. Buy Midway Arcade Treasures 2. Buy an Arcade Joystick controller and walla, your own aracade right in your house!

Despite being harder on the arcades, playing the arcade version is a more wonderful time and can give memories you can treasure for years. I actually remember playing a mk2 arcade machine at my uncles house, and thats not all the arcade cabniets he had (not lying). I even begged my mom to sleep over. One day he had to sell his cabniets and my mom told me thet she would by me it for the genisis(rather than buying the cabniet from my uncle) and I regreted it, I hated it, but I got use to it. So playing in the arcades for MK is a better suggestion rather than playing it on any home console.

*sigh* I miss the good old days...when for a handfull of quarters you could spend the afternoon beating the crap out of you friends at MK, SFII, etc.
Although the joystick and multiple button setup is more difficult at first, I found it more enjoyable and in a sense easier once you get use to the setup. Sorta like the difference between driving a standard car and an automatic. (BWT I have a standard).
With arcade games you weren't just sitting on you butt and just moving your thumbs. You're whole upper body could get into it and after a good long game which you could really get into you would find out you actually had a light work out. Also, (if you were good enough) you could actually pull in a audience cheering you on and that is something you can't get while playing hidden at home.
