I loved Brutalities, and because of these reasons:

1) In the Genesis version, it was Noob Saibot's only finisher.
2) In the Genesis version, it was Rain's only finisher.
3) Human Smoke/Ermac's Decapitation fatality sucked.

Thereby, I pretty much use Brutality on every fight excet Stage Kills. Plus it's fun to see Dan Forden say "Toasty!" at the end. grin

At first, Brutalities were eye-widening at first, but when they kept doing that when they could perform stage fatalities and regular fatalities, it got boring. With the new graphics however, it might be interesting.

Brutalities have to be one of the worst "ality" inventions Midway ever developed. Babalities and Friendships coming close second. I would've prefered characters to have 5 fatalities, an animality, and pits instead of 2 fatalities, pits, babality, friendship, animality, and brutality. Funnily enough, I have nothing against animalities as long as thought is put into them (call it MK2 rumor nostalgia).

You have got to be kidding me! Brutalities weren't good, but animalities were the worst 'alities' ever made.

I mean, some of the animlas didn't even match the characters. I don't think any thought went into the creation of animalities.

No, Brutalities weren't good and I said that animalities are fine as long as they put thought into them. Some were better than others, some plain sucked. I agree with that much. Maybe one improvement could be that each animal does something different and the animals all look realistic. Like the polar bear rips off the skin or the rhino impales the guy, etc. All of them seem to just be animal moves in fast or slow or whatever and then their is lots of blood and usually guy flies off screen (if I remember correctly). It's not the animality idea that's bad, just how they executed it. Brutalities are bad all together.

Brutalities would be fine too, if they didn't blow up and the end.

And, as you said about the idea of animalities not being bad, the same goes for brutalities.

Example: Scorpion would start off punching and kicking you as normal, but you could see your victim's face start to bruise and bleed, and when you get kicked in your stomach you can hear ribs breaking. When Scorpion uses his sword you see cuts and gashes starting to appear. When he's done using the weapon, he impales it into the victims stomach and he starts backing up screaming in pain. Scorpion then throws his spear and brings him back to him and twist the sword and jerks it out and cuts off the victims head.

See, when thought threw, it is better.

I see your point, I think the blowing up is a bit dumb - actually, REALLY fucking dumb. However, I think combo finishers, in my opinion, are kind of lame. I mean, I loved Killer Instinct and Ultra Combos, but I still prefered the good old No Mercy moves to them (much like I prefer fatalities to brutalities). However, some other 'ality' ideas I've heard (as rumors) are even worse. To list a few:

-Nudalities - we all know this one and what is the point. However, if a lot of the characters pulled this off (like Reptile, Sheeva, etc.) it would be considered a fatality.

-Sexalities - this one is just fucking dumb, worse than all of the other ones I've heard.

-Realities - this is one I heard of around the MK2 period, the characters do 'realistic' fatalities as they would in real life like Jax shoots the person to death or Kano slits their throat. Boring.

I don't like brutalities. The random puching and kicking until they explode just doesn't do it for me. It is to fake, even for MK standards. I would rather have great fatalities and realistic pits.

Brutalities were the only cool option to finish your enemy besides the original fatalities... I always thought that animalities, babalities, friendships.. They always sucked, and weren't worth the time to do them.

hahahahaha!

Brutalities rule! It's funny that your opponent ends up having two skulls ^_^ They aren't random punches and kicks. They should have been easier to do.
