In Mk1, iv heard many ppl say when he does his haeart rip fatality that he takes a bite. I dont think that he does, i think he just lifts it past his mouth for it leaves no blood near his mouth. My friend swears that he takes a bite. What do u guys think?? Or got any evidence?

I've only done the fatality on the Genesis version, and I've heard the same rumor, but I think he just passes it by his face and that's it. If they really wanted it to look like he took a bite out of his opponent's heart, I think they would've made it more obvious.

Nah, Kano's just looking at the heart as he passes it by his face.

I just asked this question a little while ago. KungBroken has some pics on his site of the animation frames in question. He'll post them when he sees this I'm sure.

No he doesn't bite the heart.

Does he have unique frames for the heartrip in MK1? I know for MK1 Sub Zero they used uppercut frames for the headrip and then just stuck teh ehad on his hand to raise it up. I was wondering if they ddi something similar with Kano?

Also, how many people have seen the redone heartrip for MK1 Kano in MKT? It looks neat. He is so pleased with himself afterwards.

I'll always remember the first time I saw Kano reach into somebody's mouth and rip out their skeleton....classic

Back when MK3 was first released some of the fatalities were printed on the machine (Shang Tsung was another one) and I usually had no money and I was dying to see what they were....they were just listed as Kano-Fatality 1 etc
It was so cool seeing somobody read how to do it then the screen turning dark and Shang Tsung slamming the guy on to the spikes....ahhhhh

I've been wondering about MK1 Kano's heart rip in MKT. How did they get the footage for that and why not just use the old animation? Did Divizio actually go back and film more, and if so why have we never heard of it and how did he manage to look so much like he did back then? Same with the other new moves, like MK II Jax's air wave and MK II Kung Lao's torpedo. Also mK1 Kano's knife spin move.

With MK II Raiden and Baraka you can tell they filmed new footage. Both of them now have run animation, and with Raiden you can tell it's not Carlos because his face is all dark and his body looks a bit different.

There are many possibilities here. If you think about it, they could have filmed anyone for the body and pasted on frames they had from other stuff with Divisio, and I think there is a ton of excess footage that is just lying around they never used from old games. It was rumored that Baraka's spin move was going to actually be in MK2 but they left it out, however they probably just refilmed that. DreemerNJ thinks that the old MK1 graphics were just too low quality so they did what I think is an even worse cut and paste job with the new MK3 Kano victory stance on top of the MK1 legs and stomach area. Overall the graphics are low enough to work with and brush up, and it was only a couple years after so I'm sure they could have called him back. With MK2 Kung Lao's superman there's actually a couple frames in his throw that could have done the same job that they didn't use, but it looks like they could have just been some of those "leftovers" and if they filmed that, why not run frames, but then the question would be, why not film running frames for MK1 Kano if they refilmed some stuff for him like the knife spin, etc, it's all very annoying. Look at Nightwolf in N64 MKT, he has that juggling friendship that is entirely new frames that must have been leftovers. Jax's air sonic wave looks like a hack job to me of maybe a trial run of both the sonic wave and a jump kick that weren't used. It'd be silly not to keep all of their unused footage, but just how much refilming did they plan on doing? If they got him back just for that, again, why not film running frames, it seems like there was a lot of stuff just lying around and they must have used most of it.

Ah well, does get the wheels turning though.

Yeah, I was thinking cut and paste and leftovers for most of those too.

And the Baraka spin was in MK II, that is definite. I've seen pics of it. EGM covered it back in 93.

One thing I hate about MKT is how Baraka and Raiden are just lifted from MK II but Cage is totally new. I know it's because they had to get a new actor, but they should have redesigned Raiden and Baraka too. It's just lazy to lift them. They should have gotten new costumes, new moves and new fatalities. What's really annoying is that they had to do new footage for them running and the versus screens so it's not like couldn't have done it with a little more money and time.

They could have made a new Raiden and Baraka for like $15 each if they sent the coffee guy to a flea market one morning and spent like 20 minutes filming them.
