Has anyone fought Smoke in MKII on MAT2 yet?

This has been driving me crazy. Every time I play MAT2's MKII, Smoke is always popping out from behind trees, and three times he has given me a certain clue. Has anyone actually found any info weather or not you can fight him at all? Has anyone fought him, and if so, how did you do it? Please, any info would be great. confused

you cant fight smoke cause Midway took this version not from the arcade but from the Sega CD version which Smoke was not in.

they took it from the arcade version they just screwed it up because everytime you hit start the pause menu comes up for the MAT2 game and there is no other start button that was made for it also so it is probably impossible unless if they put in another way to do it. same reason why you cant have a random select.

They could have made use of the Select Button or a button they didn't use.

Lol funniest dumb thing I've read for a while. Not only is it stupid but I'm pretty sure Smoke woulda been in Sega CD version of it.

The thing is, the people who made Mortal Kombat had NOTHING to do with this disc. These people just didn't even know about this secret....

you can tell Smoke is not in it by fighting to 50 rounds, after that you fight Saibot, then Jade, but no smoke, just like the Sega Cd version.

whats really funny is that there is no sega cd version of mk2. sega saturn, yeah. sega cd? only mk 1. it's obvious this dude is whack and trying to stir the pot. now i must admit, this guy is definately worse than riddict.

I think you can fight Smoke by pressing down + A (XBOX) X (PS2). The only problem is the Toasty guy never comes out for me on the Portal stage. I always use uppercuts, but still no Toasty.

Allready tried Down + A, and Down + X for both systems, and got nothing. Unless they changed it to where you must be on a Player 1, or Player 2 Game only. It was changed for another system like that. To theREALganondorf, there is no Sega CD version of MKII. Only a Saturn version is avaiable in a CD form. I hate Midway for this. furious

You had to press down + start at the portal toasty to get to Smoke

then Jade and in the arcade your suppose to fight Smoke then, but in this supposed perfect arcade emulation.

Well we can all thank Midway. I finally received an email from them, and it took only three tries. The represenative from Midway did state that Smoke is no longer in Midway Arcade Treasures 2's MKII because of the button setup. So we can all stop looking for ways of fighting Smoke. So much for "arcade perfect". sad furiousfuriousfurious

Your posts are virtually making my nose bleed because their stupidity level is quickly reaching critical mass.

You fight Noob Saibot by getting the 50 win streak. You fight Jade by defeating the person under the "?" by using only Low Kick for a whole round. You fight Smoke by pressing Down + Start on The Portal in a two-player match when Forden pops up. You don't cycle through the secret charecters during the 50 round streaks.

Idiot.

I got to say something,It was never on the portal stage in the arcade.IT WAS IN THE PIT 2 where he comes up and you were supposed to press down+start and then it goes to the portal stage and saids you real fight in goros lair.

For further unnecssary clarification of Quirk's post, the methods of fighting Noob Saibot, Smoke, and Jade are once again the following:

Noob Saibot: 50 wins
Smoke: Down+start on the portal off an uppercut if and when Dan Forden says Toasty.
Jade: Use only LK attacks on the stage before the ?

These are the methods of fighting the hidden characters and there are no other hidden characters to fight.

If you hex the raw data from MAT2's CD you will see that the lines of code for Smoke are still there, just unaccessible due to start pausing the game.
