I've been trying to research it but it seems the answer is no. the hero wins and his people get killed. he wins again, his home world is taken over. he's triuphant once more, his girl,Kitana, is captured and the treat of invasion is at hand once more. Again he wins, then he's murdered? I like it, but it's much the same with all the other characters.

I hate to be a dick once again, but...
Sub-Zero's endings are never bad or fatal. Neither are Kitana's. Neither are Shang Tsung's. Neither are Cage's. And I'm sure the list goes on... Some people do have good endings in all games, and most of them have good endings in many games. Only a few of them end bad (Kano's endings are usually fatal for himself except in DA).

And also except Mk1.
But yeah, VainQ is right. Many characters end having "happy" endings. Tsung for example, Sonya, Kung Lao.

U need to look at Kano's ending in mk1 again.
Thats not true. If u don't believe me look at the mk warehouse. Also does anyone like the fact that the endings in MKDA leave u at a cliff hanger unlike the old school MK games( expect Reikos).

Well that is a way of making ppl get impatient for the next sequel (MK6 in this case) and see what happened

I guess I should have been more specific. What I meant was no one has had a happy ending that came true. Except jonny cage or maybe Kano (he just keeps on switching sides, don't know if that's happies though), then again, Kung Lao's after he got thrashed by Kahn at the end of the invasion. None of the endings that you stated came true.

Ermac, in MKDA he is freed from Shao Kahn's power, that is true.

But in MKG, Kung Lao's neding happens, I believe Kiana's does too, Rayden's does, And so does Sonya's... A lot of happy endings happen... But not to the point at which there's no reason for them to compete in the next Mortal Kombat, that's the point! If a hero loses someone close to him, that's a reason enough to fight!

Yeah I like that!
But Kano's ending in MK1 is not positive. It results in the dismantling of the Black Dragon and ends in "anarchy and death". That's not very positive for Kano, is it? :)
