PLEASE LIST IN DEATIL (EG MOVES ETC) HOW TO DEFEAT MY COUSIN

well, i dont really know how to help, though you can always try and find some very hard hitting combos that you can do with ease, jax is a powerful character, one of the reasons i like him, but um, try and play rather cheaply, or use good combos that roll off each other, for instence sonya's m-16 (a combo i made up)in kenpo, 1, 1, 4, up+2, 1, 1, 4, which if you can get the first three combos in the rest of the combo you can easily get in, and if he's against the wall you can keep doing it as he hits the ground, dont know if this really can help you out.

Get the upper hand "first", beat him so hard that he cannot move (juggle).

2 words:Pick Drahmin

Power up in Iron Club then do his pop up move then juggle it with his Ryu-styled Uppercut you should get 49% damage.Try not to get hit you'll have to power up again.

If it's one thing I hate, it's 'ponies'! They really have no business playing the game if they don't even care about the nuances(sp?) it has.

Right then mate. Two characters you might wanna choose are Sonya and Shang Tsung. Why you may ask? Why... it's elementary my dear fireblade!!
They both have counters!

I'm saying this because with even the most simple of techniques, you can b*tch your cousin over and at the same time learn some tactical skills with those characters as well against anyone else you play against.

SONYA

Her Tang Soo Do style will be good to utilize against Jax. Now 1,1,Down+3 alone may seem to be of little consequence, however afterwards you can still have the advantage over Jax. If your cousin constantly uses that combo with confidence, then he may at times be very aggressive. The 1,1,Down+3 combo allows for you to inflict some minimal damage on Jax, but it leaves you a window of opportunity to use that combo Jax uses against him. After you use that short combo, your cousin has the chance to begin an attack of his own. However, once you become aware of his tendancies after you start using that combo just as is, then you can start to counter his initial attack.

1,1,Down+3 (counter)...

1) Back+4, Change style

or

2) 4,4

You may also think about using these combos during the game:

2,1,1,Doun+3

and

2,flying kick (Then after that, you might want to throw in a 'kiss of death' to keep him honest from a distance)

SHANG

The same method applies to Shang. In Crane style, Up+4 is his hidden weapon. If it hits then it's fine enough. However, the key to using the counter is hoping that your cousin blocks that kick. Then afterwards he may choose to attack and it is from there you can counter his initial attack.

From there you can use these combos:

1. 3,3,2,2,1,1,1,CS (basic)
2. 3,3,2,2,Up+4,4 (technical)
3. 3,3,2,2,Up+4,CS,Back+4 (technical)
4. 3,3,2,2,soul steal (cheap as hell!)

It might be best to try some of these out againts the game on hard on your non-MK:DA days with your cousin so you get them down.

I defeated Jax with Sub-Zero or Frost. Kinda easy once I got a haNG OF Freezing them

Well, I'd rather eat a low kick than a throw any day. You can do several things:

1. Pick a character with a counter and it will counter either high or low attacks easily, it just takes some timing.

2. Block high until he tries to throw you then attack him before he can block. Throw him!

3. If he is attempting to throw you right after the low kick, then block the low kick and sidestep. The sidestep will be the bigger one because it is avoiding his throw and you can get your own combo in. Beware of universal tracking though...but I doubt your cousin knows how to do this.

Just practice!

Honey, it seems to me that your friend is a little wuss. lol. If he keeps doing the same moves over and over...that's stupid. I just say retaliate. Pick someone with a projectile and keep pelting him with them. OR...get someone with an impaling weapon, jump to it fast, and stab Jax with it. When you win, do a fatality and say "Eat that, bitch!" or something of that nature. It'll let off some steam that has built up inside. lol. I do that a lot when I play with my roomates.

Or you could pick the man Johnny Cage, and beat'm down!

Scorpion and Sonya are the best characters in the game, specially for beginners. They are the only characters to have Level 1 in difficulty. I say use a mix of Kenpo, kiss, TKD and Kali and you will do fine.
