I would have to say mortal kombat one because even at like 2 yrs old I have been interested in it. Some thing about it made me want to understand it more. Well enough of my endless blabber, what do y'all have to say?

I believe i was around 3 years old when my sister recieved mk1 for her genesis on her birthday. the blood and guts disgusted her, so i pretty much took over it. It was just the coolness of ripping someones heart out that hooked me.

when I was 2 my uncle, brother, and cousin played UMK3. I'll never forget the first fatality I saw. That fatality made me become a sub zero fan

I am to this day still not really a Mortal Kombat fan in general, I enjoyed playing MK1 and MKII, MK3 was a really great game, and UMK3 was just perfect, MKT was a bit much but since the competition was so limited it had crazy replay value since it didn't matter what other people around me thought of it. MK4 was terrible as was MKDA and MKD, so really, I only like UMK3 in terms of hands down, no legit complaints.

You guys remember MK when you were only two years old? Come on. Anyways, the game that got me hooked was MK II. I had played the orignal the year earlier but MK II really set it off and UMK3 completey turned into my favorite game.

Yeah,I do,but it may be just because I'm younger.
I got a SNES when I was 2,and I still remember it with MK1,2,3 and UMK.

Yeah I do remember mortal kombat when I was 2. Despite it being 13 yrs ago I always remember when my dad was playing sub-zero & he was getting beat by goro. Goro scared me & I wanted my dad to kill him all the time. When you expose a child at that age to something like Mortal Kombat it always stick to you no matter what you later change in to in life.

when i was like 6 MK2 came out. My neighbor that was like 9 always used to come over and play my SF2. One day he came over and brough his brand new MK2 over to my house and he said "This game is crap!!" the i said "Can i borrow it" and he let me borrow mk2 and i let him borrow my SF2.Now THAT game Konsumed me with the blood and the violence. Then i traded my SF2 for his MK2. Ever since then i became a big mk fan

I played MK2 and became an MK fanboy. Loving the fatalities and the story and how cool stuff looked, but that got old fast.
I played MK3 and became a fan of playing Mortal Kombat against others. UMK3 came out and made me more a fan of actually playing (and not just being a looky lou) and Trilogy continued my addiction.
Then MK4 came out...and I started playing RTSs.

MK1. I played it with my friend in an arcade on a school field trip, and then I don't remember what happened for a while, but I ended up buying it for the Amiga and then I was hooked, and have been ever since - though MK4 and MKD really tested my fanboy ways.

On another note, all this "I've been playing MK since I was 2 or 3 years old" crap is really becoming lame.
When I played it in that arcade and bought it a little while later, I was 7 years old, and I can hardly recall any of my early MK1 memories - I don't even remember who I picked first (think it was Cage) so I don't believe all this nonsense ppl keep saying about playing MK since thy were 2...

I was 7 when I first played MK1 at an arcade, it quickly became one of my favorite games but it was MK2 that made me a fan(Reptile & Sub-Zero). I was a little disappointed by MK3 but when UMK3 was released I had found a new favorite. Then came MK4, fun at first but wore out quickly, MKDA and MKD were the ones that reestablished my interest in MK since I really enjoyed them both and still play them to this day.

i never heard of the game until i saw the history of MK on icons, then i rented mkd when it came out, then kept renting it,then bought mk 2 and 3,soon after bought mkt, then bought mkda, then bought mkd for gc,then bought mkadvance for gba,i remember when i first put on mkd,and went to arcade mode, and saw the characters,it was such an awesome experience, then when i played through konquest,it was such an amazing experience

Look dude I remeber mortal kombat at 2. In fact my dad recorded me at two playing mortal kombat. I remember when I thought sub-zero was cool like my dad & my dad telling sub-zero he can beat Goro. Just because you can't remember that far doesn't make what we say crap. I am related to Shaman (no lie) & I often do remember shit that happened years ago. Even at times I have perminitions, call me a nut job but call me a fuckin' liar!!

I played the first one in the arcade and liked it because it was like street fighter, but with blood and ninjas. Ninjas that rip the heads off of other ninjas rule.

I would have to be completely honest and say that since for a while, the only access to MK I had was MK1, that MK1 would be the one to have made me a fan.

Mortal Kombat 1. I played it when I was four. It wasn't the fatalities and the gruesome ways of killing that got me, just the fact that I'm a huge fan of fighting games.
The original Mortal Kombat. That game made me become a big fan, at such a young age I played that game. I remember the first clear thought of Mortal Kombat was the big moon in the back of the pit stage and the music. The music, the basic feel of Mortal Kombat had me hooked. The backrounds, I remember the warrior shrine level. That had me hooked at a young age.
Hearing the announcer say Fatality, or Flawless victory in the first Mortal Kombat game really stuck with me. Having another character perform a fatality on me and having me wonder just how the hell can I do what he did had me come back.
At being such a young age and trying to beat the game, and trying a million times to get passed the endurance rounds and when I do I have to fight Goro, then from Goro I have to fight Shang Tsung. It was such a perfect game to me at the time. I leanred how to read and then I learned who each character was.
Instead of calling Scoprion "The Yellow Ninja" I was able to call him by his name or instead of calling Johnny Cage " The sungasses guy" and so forth.I guess the reason why I am still a fan of that game even today is because I had great memories with the old ones and I want that feeling when I play the game now.

Mortal Kombat 1. I had virgin eyes before I knew that game existed. When I first saw it in arcades i saw the blood and thought "Cool, it's got blood." Then I saw Sub-Zero's head rip and was shaken deeply.

Mortal Kombat 1
About when the game came out, my cousin brought it over to my house and I liked it from the first punch I seen. One of the first things I remember is the pit level with all sorts of crazy stuff passing the midnight moon and then fighting the hidden Reptile.
