I know it sounds a little crazy but I've heard it from someone on this website before, but they said they had no evidence. Well all i have to say is that for the ending for Classic Sub Zero in MK Trilogy it says he reveals his identity to the subsequently shocked Earth warriors, "he is a fighter from a previous Mortal Kombat tournament who will return for the forth edition" (MK4.) Now if the creators followed up on this ending from the previous game who in MK4 would fit the description? Saibot is really MK1 Sub Zero! Even if it isn't (and it probably isn't as both Noob Saibot and Classic Sub Zero are both MK Trilogy) does anyone else have another candidate for the revealed character?

0
But how would he be skilled enough to handle 2 sets of different powers and he doesnt have dark skin...
0
It was never revealed who the "classic" Sub-Zero of UMK3 really was and it seems as though it's been retconned that he never existed. I wouldn't worry about it.

Didn't MK4 Noob have a freeze shatter fatality?
Also ,Trilogy Classic Sub-Zero has Scorpion's stance instead of his own from MK1(Due to time/memory constraints probably)

They've officialy stated that it was Cap'n Crunch under that mask. I thought everyone knew that by now.
Okay, but seriously, it was never answered, probably never will be. Too bad, because I've always been more curious about that than over the whole Reiko/Kahn thing. For some reason I always thought it was Kitana's father, king Jerrod.

Sorry to bump such an old topic but when I saw krsx66's sig, I felt it necessary to respond.
I've been saying Noob is Sub-Zero's brother since this website was nothing more than a gamers.com forum back in '99. The thread witht he theory is, of course, LONG gone, but I update it in 2002 on another message board. The link is in my sig.
Personally I don't think Classic Sub's UMK3/MKT ending means jack...that was just another one of the countless endings they had which had absolutely no point, no reason, and no direction. They put classic Sub-Zero in the game just so they could squeeze the Sub-Zero ninja pallette into it. Not to mention Noob Saibot was in the same game at the same time, though since it was MK trilogy and multiple identities of one character were in the game at the same time as well (Robo/Human Smoke), that doesn't mean anything either. Personally I felt alot of the UMK3/MKT endings were pointless tripe...UMK3 was an update with an excuse to shove the ninjas in, and MKT was basically like the party game of MK (though its still fun to this day, despite the glitches).
Am I the originator of the 'Noob Saibot is Sub-Zero's brother" theory? Yes... I would definitely think so. Nobody liked the idea when I started posting it here 5 years ago...when I began talking about it again in '02/'03, people continued to think I was an idiot...now that its true everyone is saying 'OMG I KNEW IT'. Well, not 5 years ago, but now, sure.
krsx66, feel free to PM me. I'd like to know when you started to theorize that Noob/Sub were related in this way, and feel free to check out the link in my sig.

Well, the older Sub-Zero is definitely Noob Saibot. John Vogel confirmed it in Fight Night when he was asked if he would ever put Sub and Noob against eachother in future storylines and he said, "Yeah, I would love to see the two brothers go at it one day."
As for who UMK3 Sub-Zero is, I have my own theory - Noob Saibot was instructed to side with Shao Kahn and then betray him later on, right? My guess is Noob Saibot transformed himself into UMK3 Sub-Zero (like, used his wraith powers to take on his normal form) and then kept taking shots at Shang Tsung (because it said "it is believed he is back to assassinate Shang Tsung) as well as messing with the Outworld soldiers minds, making it easier for the Earthrealm warriors to infiltrate Shao Kahn. So, Noob Saibot transformed back and forth between his wraith form and Sub-Zero to confuse the Outworld soldiers. And no one, not even Shao Kahn, probably ever found out or knew the difference, which might explain why Shao Kahn let him rejoin in MKDA.

First, psychofight - I like the theory! It's innovative, and who knows, maybe your right. Unfortunately I don't think they will fully explain the truth behind MKT's classic sub zero and noob saibot's apperances.

Now shang-heihaci, I have pm'ed you some of what i remember lol, but i'll carry on a bit in my (revived) thread.
I don't know how long you've been registered at MKO (350+ visits can mean anything from 1 month to 1 year) but u may have been the person I refered to in my first post of this thread. Well, somehow around the time I made this thread, I read something on here that started to lead me to the conclusion that Noob Saibot was infact Classic Sub Zero. My theory was based soley on Noob and Classic Sub Zero's bios and endings in UMK3, MKT and MK4. Somehow I came to the conclusion that they one and the same, and it proved correct. As you can tell in my original post, I wasn't 100% sure, but hey - it what a hell of an assumption
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh and if any mods see this, could you not close it - in light of the fact that Noob Saibot's true identity has been revealed, this thread can serve some more purpose - especialy as I'd like to know more about how shang-heihachi and I came to such an outrageous conclusion - that proved to be right!

Apparently if you beat MK Deception with Noob-Smoke, Noob Saibot's ending shows that he is actually the Sub-Zero from MK 1. I think there's more details as to why Sub-Zero has returned as Noob and not with his old powers like Scorpion but I leave that to you guys to beat the game with him and find out!

That was my Fight Night pre-submission question (though my real name was used). I never even knew a question I asked on Fight Night actually led to a storyline confirmation from John Vogel, the man who has the final say on what's official and what's not in the storyline. lol
I remember this theory being brought up in the MKD forums about a few months ago, and I don't remember who first posted the thread. Boy, did that person get flamed! I think they shut that thread down, and the creator of that thread listed every detail supporting that theory, and unlike most people on that thread, I happened to think that very theory had merit. I had no idea krsx66 had the same theory before E3 and shang_heihachi had it for five YEARS! I'm sure that theory had John Vogel and the rest of the storyline crew thinking about the Noob/Sub thing for a while.
wow this is confusing.. first I was thinking since the classic sub in trilogy has the ground freeze, and Sub Zero in MK 1 doesnt have that move.. he is the Sub from MK2.. BUT.. he has the headrip fatality... and SUB in MK2 doesn''t... so theres no telling really..

Yeah, weird both me AND Shang Heihachi had this theory. What's funny, I remember around the time, when the thread was falling down the page, I went back to read it. And after I read it I thought, "What a stupid post, why did I post that?"
When I saw Shang Heihaci's sig recently, I thought "Didn't I make a thread like that once?" I searched back through the pages (the hard way, damn u search feature!) and I found my old thread! With my crazy old theory. My favorite part is reading the negative replies from people at the time...emperor_subzero I'm lookin in ur direction!
I don't mean to bump this back up but...Noob is the Sub-Zero from MK1.
He was killed by Scorpion and sent to the Netherrealm where he ended up doing. Shinnoks and Quin Chi's bidding and spy on the MK3 tourny. But when his masters are killed he sides with Kahn. But now Khan is gone so he now has the freedom to choose his own way. Now I don't know who the classic Sub-Zero is but it did say in his ending that he was a long missing warrior and would return for the 4th MK...but they never say who that was supposed to be. So maybe it was just another "throwback" they wanted in MKT. But Noob is Sub-Zero. Besides its says so in MKD!

The last MK with a fairly decent storyline was MK3, then every single profile update and ending was just done to fill the new blanks left as a load of re-wrapped characters were added. MKT's plot shouldn't be taken seriously cos the game was just a compilation.

maybe Noob and classic Sub-Zero are in the same game in MKT, but we can say the same thing for robot Smoke and human smoke
classic sub-zero is definitely Noob but in his human form(before he died) in the Netherealm he gain some new powers

Ok,ok....let me see if I understand what your saying. Sub-Zero is Noob in MKT before he DIED! Scorpion killed him in MK1. How is he still alive as Sub-Zero but still NOOB. That wouldnt make sense my friend. Just the part where you said he was still alive. And MKT isn't crap. Some of those endings did happen and carry over.

yes but human Smoke is Smoke in MKT before he was morph into a cyborg, so following your logic it would not make sense to have both Smokes in the game.
In Classic Sub-Zero ending it says something along the lines of... when the third tournament came to an end, the warrior sub-zero took out his mask to reveal a warrior from the past who was not seen for a long time and believe to be dead(original MK1 Sub-Zero) this warrior will be back in the fourth tournament... We all know that Noob was in MK4 as an hidden character in most versions of the game.
So Noob=classic Sub-Zero and who knows... maybe he retain some of his original ice abilities...

Exactly, well said.
I believe (but I don't have this version so I cannot confirm) that Noob Saibot had a sub zero fatality in the N64 version of MK4...
Also Classic Subby's ending in MKT, and Noob's appearance in MK4 were the main reasons I came to my theory
