In the Liu Kang Tomb concept thingy it says something about Kang having 4 MK vicotories.....so I guess this puts an end to some people thinking Quan Chi or Raiden beat Shinnok ,or does it?

I guess....it finalls settles the fact that MK3 and MK4 were actual tournaments.

well mk2, 3 and 4 were tournaments but they weren't official mk tournaments to decide who would invade earth (like mk1) every mortal kombat after 1 was merely a way for the bad guy of said games to get what they want. if every mortal kombat after mk1 was a continuation (sp?) of that particular tournament then we would probably only see the return of liu kang from the earthrealm fighters.

I was not suprised to hear that. Raiden and Liu Kang had stayed together during Mortal Kombat 4 and I think they fought Shinnok when he was alone. Quan Chi probably was not with Shinnok and because he was not there Shinnok was defeated by Liu Kang and managed to escape.

Liu Kang would be the one who was declared champion once again for beating Shinnok in combat but Liu Kang was not part of the plan Quan Chi had. Liu Kang and Raiden were just two pawns in Quan Chi's plan and were not the real threats to him.

Shinnok probably retreated back to Quan Chi and was enraged that Quan Chi did not help him. Shinnok would try and kill Quan Chi but he would relize that his amulet is fake. Quan Chi would reveal to Shinnok what his true intentions were and he killed Shinnok.

Quan Chi disapeared after that and Liu Kang and Raiden thought that Earthrealm was safe once again now that the Amulet and Shinnok were defeated. Raiden and Liu Kang probably destroyed the fake amulet and Edenia was once again free from an invader.

Quan Chi would do one last thing before he begins his conquest of all the realms, he would have to eliminate his biggest threat, Sub-Zero. Since Scorpion did not succeed in eliminating Sub-Zero during the time Shinnok was around, Quan Chi had lured Sub-Zero out to deal with Scorpion so that both of them weaken each other up and Quan Chi comes in and takes them both out.

Sub-Zero and Scorpion fought and Scorpion managed to defeat Sub-Zero. Scorpion wanted to know the truth before he killed Sub-Zero and when he relized that Sub-Zero was not the man who killed him family and that Quan Chi was the one responsible, Quan Chi decided it was time for Scorpion to die.

Quan Chi revealed himself to both Sub-Zero and Scorpion and wanted to banish Scorpion to the Netherealm and kill Sub-Zero with his bare hands. That is when Scorpion dashed and grabbed Quan Chi into the Netherealm with him and ruined Quan Chi's plans for domination.

That is my whole point of view on Mortal Kombat 4, So Liu Kang was not a true champion, in fact there was no true champion in Mortal Kombat 4. Liu Kang took the credit for defeating Shinnok and defending Earthrealm, Shinnok was nothing but a pawn to a master plan and Liu Kang will become a hero due to a false fight.

That was a nice explanation. I also think that Liu took credit for the defeat of Kahn in MK3 since Raiden did hint that Kahn was attacked from all sides.

The krypt also says Baraka was cut in half by Kung Lao and stapled back to gether in MKG, so not everything can be trusted.
