i think so...its a shame he probably would of had the illest fighting style.. its stupied that they killed him off cuz now they made they story even dumber.. its like killing off luke skywalker and leaving han solo to fight darth vader...it just ait rite...they made the worse moves (story wise) in mkda... anyway hopefully he'll be resurrected someway in mk6...maybe to fight the boss that would be a good story...

wat do u guys think??

i disagree

it was the best thing for the story and it made MKDA the best game

liu was boring and killing him shows that the MK series understands the need for change

i'm also glad that Shao Kahn was killed

him and liu were pretty lame

Letting the same person win over and over gets quite stale over time. Sure, I liked Kang is the first few MKs, but once I seen this 'chosen one' like path he was on the storyline became far too predictable. And to most, being able to predict how a game will be before it comes out (MK4) isn't very fun. I think with Kang out of the picture Mortal Kombat will be able to move in a forward direction, instead of being at a standstill.

And as far as styles and such go, that is secondary to the storyline for me.

its a damn shame, I would like to see Liu back but there is a predicament now, pretty much the only way we will ever see Liu again is if Shang Tsung either 1)becomes a good guy and releases conquered souls 2)dies. I think most of us can rule out #1 so Shang must die for us to have a chance to see Liu, now comes the question if you could only pick one would you rather see Shang Tsung or Liu Kang?

Shao Kahn is NOT Lame at all. Not even near being a lame character. Only thing lame about him is the clothing he wears. He is the greatest of all MK villains.

As for Liu, he had his chance but he was killed dishonorably. Had Quan Chi not interfered Liu would have beaten Shang fair and Square. Same thing with Quan Chi

I couldn't agree with you more.
Liu needed to die, he was always winning, and he was just plain BORING!
He won, and then he rested, then won, then rested, then something with Kitana in MK4, but it wasn't very exciting.

As for Kahn, apparently he's just licking his wounds, not necessarily dead, but if he is, big deal. His time has passed, they overused him.

I agree with you mister_satan666 and Timsmk. Liu Kang's storyline got too predictable so in my opinion, it was best for him to die. Out of the MK games he was in, I liked him best in MK1. If he was in MKDA, his fighting styles should have been Jeet Kune Do and Wushu. His weapon style should be Nunchaku. However, I'm glad that he wasn't in MKDA and now it's time for Kung Lao to shine but I hope that Kung Lao's storyline will go in a different and better direction than Liu Kang's.

Killing off Liu Kang was a good idea. Because it refreashed MKs storyline. It got predictable and boring, because, Liu Kang was repeated champion.

You're glad they killed Shao Kahn?! Kahn was the best! Liu Kang is cool but he shouldn't win every time.

if kang was to return it would work well if he returned as a bad guy - that will bring a unique twist to the story

I didn't care since I never used him that much. :.\. I can't deside yes or no on wether if he should come back.( I know about Liu Kang soul possiblly going into Kano body). I think that is a good plot twist for a norm MK person

Well it has been said many times in the past that Quan Chi's MKDA ending will not occur in the storyline.

I don't miss him, I didn't really like him.

Imagine Liu Kang with a Weapon in the third fighting style - some kind of unsuitable.

I agree that killing Liu Kang refreshed Mortal Kombat in a way...since he was always the champion and stuff...but I actually liked Liu Kang. But oh well, maybe he'll return as an evil spirit or something like that? Or maybe they got rid of him for good, but I wouldn't wish for that...

Killing him made MKDA story the best of all, along side the army, the Dragon King, and of course, the alliance. It was the best thing to do, finally a change that made us FOR ONCE try to guess who would win these time. It was a very cool idea, but I DO AGREE it would had been awesome to play as him in MKDA, see his moves and all, but Im happy he died. He NEEDED to die to make the story more darker, more interesting.

BTW, Shao Kahn is a very cool character, he is not lame, BUT he was OVERUSED so many times (Mk2, Mk3, Mk3U, MkT, MkDA intro) that he got boring and all just like Lius typical story of winning all the time.

Khan is not easy to defeat (with the exception of MK2). And he only got weak after his defeat in MK3. NOT BEFORE!!!

That was the best dam thing they did why?
1. It made the story line better
2. This is the best reason. Now my dumb ass friend has to play with some one else and not liu he is died. He was liu every game and never picked anyone else. I think he almost cried the day liu died.
3. i have a hate for liu, just because all the VS with him.

Let me just say I did not say that Liu Kang would not go into Kano's body. All I said was that it might be possible. Secondly how does anyone here know the MK6 storyline well enough to know that Liu Kang's body will or will not go into Kano body? Sure small peaces of endings may come true like so many others from the past MKs and Quan Chi's is no expection. What I am saying is that on one can tell what will happen in the next MK game but the return of Dragon King in which the MK team themselfs have said at fight night, and we can all debate all we want but when it comes down to it the MK team is in charge of what and what will not happen in the MK storyline. thanks for your time

Killing off Kang made MKDA more interesting. However, it would be terrible if Kung Lao ended up winning and replacing Liu Kang as the golden boy. No..this must not happen. Have someone like Sub-Zero or Kenshi win. Something that would give the tournament/storyline a twist. The MKDA storyline is the best of all 5 games in my opinion. The only one that comes close is maybe MK Trilogy or MK1.
