lui kang had the dragon and the cartwheel fatalities in mk2. he didnt get his flame meditation or whatever you wanna call it till mk3 yeah? so that kinda destroys that theory.

Yes, exactly. However, Midway is not always consequent. The guy fighting the man on fire could still be Liu Kang without such a move or fatality being actually in the game.

I'm reminded of the "Lost" background in UMK3, which is also known as "Scislac Busorez" or something. The latter word is definitely recognisible as "Sub-Zero" but the former is a more difficult anagram of "Classic". The method of finding each word is different, which goes to show that Midway isn't *always* consequent.

maybe i walked off on my own path here but i thought we were talking about the 'is that really blaze/torch or is it someone being engulfed by some green lui kangs flame meditation fatality' or something like that
