I'm sick of people complaining that they have too much lag to play or that they can't play on snes or they get mad when they lose. Just STFU and play.

I played someone from Germany today who is obviously very good, but we had to meet in the middle and play at a server with over 100ms ping each. I had 136ms and he had 117ms so there was a huge 1 second delay between when we press the button and when it happens in the game. I've had alot of experience with this so I know to do everything in advance and I won most of them, he won 90% of the matches where he was Liu Kang. I could tell he was getting pissed, and out of the blue he says to me "I know you think you are 10 times better than I am, but know this, I can play real with 140 ping"...WTF? That was the last thing on my mind, if I was better than he was...who cares anyways. I play to have fun, but he couldn't see that...I use advanced tactics to win, so I couldn't possibly play for fun.

I couldn't play on Kalliera worth jack. Damn thing wouldn't keep the settings I set for the game. I can't play MK games on this PC with sound. My monitor doesn't support the frequency for it, so the framerate is pretty much killed. Kalliera wouldn't disable the sound no matter how many times I told it to (it only worked once). So it was pretty bad with that, and the dsync.

When you play online it keeps the default game setting, but it uses all the mame settings you have changed like sound, screen size, buttons, etc.

If you are dsyncing alot, maybe you need to change your mame settings so the game plays as smooth as possible offline...it makes a huge difference online. Plus never do random online with mame, that causes major dsync.

If that doesn't help, then god help you LOL

Versatile came on after I played SubSmokeX and his statement was something like, "Word has it that SubSmokeX raped you" the only way he would get that impression was if SubSmokeX told him that.

In defense, it was SNES UMK3. Anyone who has ever played me in UMK3 can tell you that my performance that night was a feeble comparison to how I play the arcade, and that kind of statement leads me to believe that SubSmokeX feels he is superior in UMK3, or at least, the broken SNES version. So yeah, the SNES version does have an effect on players who are use to the real deal, it's just not the same.

Lag also effects the game, for both players, if both have lag. Konqrr, when we played on whatever the Hell server that was, the gameplay was so stuttery and choppy, it was as if we were playing on SNES anyway. I play people a lot at home at MKT and UMK3, so I am entirely accustomed to timing for the game as it should be.

I know a lot of you play the SNES version online, A LOT. And also a number of you guys have never even played the Arcade version, which I think is wrong. But remember, Konqrr I have no beef with you, I enjoy playing you, but you have to realize that lag, and game version effect people's skills.

The robbery I face against Versatile, DreemerNJ, yourself, and especially the night against SubSmokeX leaves me baffled on the SNES version. The only person who can tell you my true MK ability on here is DreemerNJ because we play MKT all the time, in fact he's been home for the holidays and we have played it at least 3 of the 4 days he's been home.

SNES UMK3 is just not the same game as the Arcade. There are different properties all over the place, things I'm not use, exploits to minor aspects of the game that seem to be very important to know, different timings for counters, placement on cross ups, properties for projectiles, like Jax, Sindel, Robot Smoke, Liu Kang's bicycle kick you can STILL combo off which was eliminated at MK3, extremely sketchty juggle properties for everyone, corner juggles are ruined, super choppy gameplay with or without lag, the fact that, and I didn't even realize this when I was doing it to Versatile and SubSmokeX, that Kung Lao's infinite in the corner is simply, "Spin, spin, spin, spin, spin" and I was trying to do it the hardway, which would be putting a hit inbetween each spin. In any event, there are some things about the SNES version that I have realized are different, and I can deal with that, but there is an enormous amount of things that I can't deal with, that just change the game entirely. I really think it's time for people to give the arcade version a shot because you don't know what you're missing. What I have described is merely a drop in the bucket for the differences in the games.

And on a side note, I play with advanced tactics, and still manage to play for fun, and with flashiness. The things DreemerNJ and myself pull off midgame that do insane damage and are just evil make us laugh all the time. I think any time you laugh at taking 60% is considered fun.

There's also a number of guys who don't post on here whom I play in UMK3 online every now and then, they all have fast computers, and get good pings to the same servers I do. We can enable hidden characters manually, do two on two player, random select, randper kombat, and never desync, and oh yeah, I slaughter them and they keep coming back for more. =)

The delay wasn't too bad...for 130ms. Hey, you have MKT ISO for psx right? I don't know if we'll dsync or not having you at 18ms and me at 130ms, but I'm willing to give it a go just to have Ermac lol.

Don't feel embarassed Konqrr. For 130ping that was some great play. Besides, Matt is a machine in that game. Personally, I can't play UMK3 well at all with any ping because its just too precise a game.

MKT ran really well between Matt and I, but we both had real nice pings. There was one recurring problem of a generic CD ERROR thingy that would stop the game, but besides that it was fun.

Maybe next time you and Matt can unlock Ermac in the arcade to use.
