It looks super cool! UMK3 looks arcade perfect. Puzzle Kombat looks great as well. I'm not into handheld gaming so I won't get it either way. But I would definitely get it if I were.
I don't know why Midway has waited so long to officially send this out, but it's been on YouTube for over a month, now.

Highly doubtful if they're making it for the DS but perhaps they'll make MK4 or Trilogy for it or something down the line.

It's a sign of the times. The power of the average console/computer can emulate a lot of games. The cost of developing the emulation and the cost of distributing these games makes it worth it to do so even if they aren't going to sell a huge number of copies.
Plus people that were little kids popping quarters into the original machines are now adults young enough to want a PS3 or 360 and old enough to go buy one if they want it.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a bit lame?
Spending around £30 for a game I've played to death and some shoddy minigame to boot?

It's lame if you don't want to keep playing it. I, for one, have never gotten tired of playing UMK3. So for me, getting it for the DS is a no-brainer. But, only because of netplay. Without netplay, there's really no reason to get it since the 1 player is bad.

Yeah..seriously, the online play for this IS the key reason why it won't get old and will be awesome. Enough said
As dreemer just covered, but since I already have a DS and online I can tell you guys factually wifi nintendo DS is HOT!
Very little lag, tons of fun and games like this, classics never get old.
I'm also an oldschooler at heart.

Well, this is been up for about a month but sadly not a lot of people have seen this. I've posted this on a few other sites that are interested also so people can get an idea of how it will play on the DS when it comes out in a month ; )
There is no puzzle gameplay unfortunately but just the fighting game of UMK3.
I managed to find it after watching the MKO update of late on the front page.
It's actual gameplay live of a kid in germany playing a demo of the game apparently, it's arcade accurate 100% but just smaller. I know some on here from UMK.com might have seen this, but there are some people on MKO on here that haven't I'm sure.
The dudes a noob at the game but that's to be expected, it looks awesome though. He did look like he was into it I must say.
Check it out.

Enjoy!

This is the game actually being played, a lot more interesting then the 40 second trailer...by far, check it out.
