Yeah, as did many Mk fans today. I actually liked them all. MK was the beginning of the great series, MK2 had better everything, MK3/UMK3/MKT had a dark storyline from start to finish, MK4 was in 3-D had a pretty good story, MKDA had good story, good graphics, and authentic martial arts. Actually, all of them had a great story with them.
I liked very mutch mk1 when there was only street fighter and the mortal it was so kooool but when i seened mk2 mk1 sucked for me lol and when i seened mk3 that was the best then umk3 its was the best then mkt then mk4 then mkgold now mkda and in the close future MK6 lol

mk2 kicks asssssssss
mk1 was exceptionally good, it had all the campy b-movie essentials. it was something fresh. it introduced us to the glorius age of video game violence. i admit that i did like mk2 better when it came out but what did u expect??? it was a sequel to a clasic that had 7 playable characters and 3 unplayable, there was no other way but to add more of everything. and with mk2, it gave mk the dark gothic feel. mk1 and 2 is a close tie for the best imo.

You must be out of yo' mind if you think MK1 is the best. The game was so slow. I do think that the original Mortal Kombat movie was the best, which was based on MK1, because it actually had a theme.
mk1 on the home consoles sucked, but mk1 on arcade is another thing. mk1 on arcade is sweeet. mk1 seemed alot more realistic to compared to mk2 ect. dident look so cartoony, and mk1 had the most realistic fatals too, nothing was over done to the point where its so fake and corny looking, it gets annoying. just a simple head rip is better than having some one turn into a giant and stepping on you (mk3 jax shit fatality).
In terms of game innovation, MK1 was one of the most revolutionary(if not THE most) games ever. It spawned so many pathetic clones and look-alikes it was amazing.
Mortal Kombat 2 is widely accepted as the best MK game, but with the release of MK:DA, who knows?
I personally like MK2 the best, with DA close second.
For it's time, MK1, definately.

yeah MK1 is simply originally classically groovy. But MK2 is still my fav and MK DA sux a bit to me (coz I think: IF they have to copy all the krap from Tekken and SoulCalibur they could've had added a bit more depth to it like more kombos and moves and simply only put in about 10 characters or so like in MK1...)
