I kinda wish they would include both, mk3 and umk3. MK3 had the picture endings and story boards intro. And umk3 only had text endings and no story boards in the start of the game during demo mode and whatnot.

Common sense would say release Mortal Kombat Trilogy instead...

To be honest I can't see or understand the point of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3's existance, even 15 years after it was released, it is STILL pointless.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy is a much more sensible option... then again, NRS have shown in the past that common sense doesn't always prevail!

Mortal Kombat Trilogy was incredibly broken and looked much worse than UMK3.

That was one thing I never liked about UMK3, it seemed like an unfinished version, despite being an addon to MK3.

Things like the storyboard intro's, the bio pictures, endings with images etc, seems to complete the game.

Plus the glitches like backgrounds gone, and repeating...

As much as i'd like to see an arcade perfect version, i'd love to see it fixed of all the glitches, and even better if they can make it what MK3 was in terms of polish.
A collection of my posts from other threads:

Well, the Arcade Kollection was present at the event at the San Diego Comic Con so we know it hasn't been forgotten.
There was video of people playing it on gamespot's coverage of the MK tournament after the Freddy reveal. There wasn't anything too interesting like a release date but the game select screen had you scrolling through the 3 arcade cabinet which was a nice touch.
I wonder if we'll get any more news about the kollection at the SDCC now that the DLC business is concluded.

And about the release date.

'Late August' is the closest thing to a release date we have; it's mentioned in the official press release.
The Klassic Fight Stick that will include a voucher for the Arcade Kollection shows a release date of August 31st on the gamestop website (the only place to buy it) but that is most likely a placeholder until NRS announces the actual date.

EDIT: mkwhopper found a youtube video of gameplay for the Kollection. It's from the gamespot coverage that I mentioned earlier.

I think I'm part of the minority that likes MK 3 moreso than Ultimate MK 3. MK 3 was pretty polished as it was. As others have stated UMK 3 lacked the proper opening and ending screens (just generic text) which is pretty lame.

I thought MK 3 was funner to play also. I almost hate UMK 3 just because Jade, Kitana, and Mileena. Fighting them was worse than fighting Shao Kahn. Plus they brought back endurance rounds. I hate endurance rounds. :p

And what the heck is up with the lack of MK 4 representation? I know it's not as liked as most other MK games but we need a good home version of MK 4. Mortal Kombat Gold was nice but it's full of glitches and I don't want to drag out a Dreamcast everytime I want to play a halfway decent MK 4 port.

Ideally I would like arcade-perfect MK1, 2, and 3, Ultimate MK 3, and MK Gold all playable on PS3/360. And maybe after that we could get Deadly Alliance, Deception, and Armageddon released as an "HD Collection" like the God of War and Metal Gear Solid HD Collections.

I wouldn't mind seeing a MK Mythologies, MK4/Gold collection.
