I agree with most people that Mkda was a great game but it's just that I think that they got rid of alot of the good trademark moves
.For example Reptile's invisibility,or Sonya's leg grab along wit Sub-Zeros clone and Raydens teleport. they also didn't put in cyrax's net and the square wave punch for sonya and Kitana but i could understand not having Scorpion's teleport scince it's all 3-D but i hope they at least put theese in MK6.

It's not a mistake if it was their intention. (Read: get over it)

um, the reason they took those moves out is because they want mk:da to be more, realistic, you should be happy thay kept the moves they kept, they could have just went all out and removed every single special move, but they didnt, they kept only the most famous special moves

Yah, it's been discussed over and over agian, but there is a reason for it. Just another tid-bit which added to a shit fighting game that is MK:DA.
Realistic...yyyyeeeeaaaah.
MK needs to get hardcore ballistic. Not realistic.

those moves weren't that important anyway and mkda is still great without them

I enjoyed the moves rather then the button combos. I'd love to see more moves rather than button combos.

JAX007 Wrote: All of the moves you listed there would be useless with the new 3D gameplay (except for Sonya's leg grab which could have easily been her throw) They didn't get rid these moves for nothing you know. |
Eh, some, yes. Most, no. Scorps teli would make him even more broke. That kind of zoning in a 3d world would just be to damn good. Kungs spin + wall = pwned. Shit, even moves that would make since for the character, like Jax's Gotcha', were left out. Please. I guess it's just something for us to look forward to.

I understand that those moves had to go, but...
I DO hope that's all gonna go. I don't want the next game to be a mixture of VF, Tekken and Soul Calibure with mortal kombat fighter models and backgrounds.
I want it to feel more like an MK. even more than MKDA felt.

im sure there will be plenty of specials in the next mk..at least im hoping for that.
some old ones may or may not return..there will probably be a crap load of new ones.
but dont complain cause the team took some out, cause not every one feels the same way you do when it comes to those those things. you just gotta realize that sometimes you gotta leave part of the past behind to move forward. and thats what the mk team did, and to be honest, im glad they did and hope they continue.
mk needs to elvove and grow..its not going to do that by going back...and i say this to all of the people that say "they need to bring back the classic button layout, ermac, noob, rain, smoke, jade, mileena, friendships, etc"..all the stuff that hurt the mk series. the animalities, brutalities, pallett swaps, and so on is what hurt mk in the past. the game play gets old when its the same attacks for each player. if you want that, play the OLD games.
and it doesnt matter if you like it or not, but most of the characters you people want back will probably never be seen again. the team doesnt want to make the same mistakes it did in the past. change is a big part of mk now...as well as a part of life. sometimes you like it, some times you dont..so, get used to it.

Ok Scorpio, chill out it was just a little part of the game that i wished that they had put in i don't need a whole life lecture to accept change and shit it's not a big deal.

Reptile's invisibility: Would have been either cheap or ineffective due to the 3D aspect and the camera adjusting.
Sonya's leg grab: Could have been put in the game, a reasonable criticism.
Sub-Zeros clone: This could be a difficult move to create. What does Subzero do if he touches the statue? Assuming they don't set it to freeze himself, does he just walk through it (which would graphically look ugly and probably cause problems in the game) or do they have to set up where or where not he can walk around the statue? Now imagine him doing that in the air, at what point can Subzero walk under it? I think it would've changed the way Subzero handled significantly for the lesser.
Raydens teleport: Its unnecessary. I wouldn't want someone playing teleport games with me during a fight.
Cyrax's net: Who knows? It had a really large size on the original. Cyrax handles very well without it, maybe that was the only issue.
Square wave punch: Its pretty useless. The game isn't constantly requiring you to jump like the original.

true about square wave punch but wat if sub just can't do it in the air and if he does touch it he just freezes.

there were a lack of moves that werent in mkda that should have been. the reason for this is called evolution. i guess they felt it was time for a change.

Personally i dont miss the moves that were taken away (hey as long as scorpions spear is in)
The main thing i want to see in the next MK game is more fluidity in the movements of the fighters.
think the fluidity of DOA3 mixed with the MK characters (Think scorion swinging his sword like it was art instead of hacking and slashing at his opponents , johny cage actually pulling off some sweet fluid strikes and blocks in his jeet kun do style. fluidity people we need fluidity

Wouldn't alot of the deleted moves have taken a long time to create w/the 3-D Animation they were using??

Well, they mokap the moves. Im not sure if they mokaped the specials or not. Anways, the actual data capture of mokap is very quick - aside from set up. However, it's the clean-up of the animation afterwards that takes such a long time.
The game was simply not given enough time and shizzle was rushed. It doesn' take to much time to hand animate specials. Say that the average special is 30 frames, that's nothing as far as 3d animation goes. It's not like doing a perfect walk cycle, either; there is leway for mistakes. If you really look at game animation, there are a lot of mistakes; clipping, sliding, etc. Stuff just happens so fast you really dont' notice. Anywho, peace and love ya'll.
