Hey,

I know someone with MK2 for the PSX and he said he could send it to me. It works for him on his modded PSX, but I have a modded PS2 (for Winning Eleven of course, heh!). Does anyone know if this game works on a modded PS2?

If this is illegal to talk about, please lock this thread. I'm sorry, I'm new here and frankly don't know if I can talk about this version of MK2 or not.

What version of that Sony Playstation does he have the MKII for?

Does it really matter what version he has? All he told me is he has it for a regular modded PS1 and it works fine. Other people should have it too, and I'm just wondering if anyone else has tried it on a modded PS2 because the first copy he sent me did not work.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy pretty much covers everything I need in the old MK games.

All the fighters and stages.

If your Modded PS2 plays CD-R games, then it will work fine.

Well copied PSone games does NOT work on PS2. smile
And I thought you was talking about the original copy of MKII as it is hard to find and won't play on certain hardware.

Not really. Don't get me wrong, I love MKT, but MK2 has different game play, Pit2, different menus, different select screens, different character latter, different fonts, different life bars, etc. Kitana, Mileena, Jade, Scorpion, Noob, Smoke, and Johhny are completly different then their trilogy counter parts! MK2 has the best Kahn (after he beats you he walks to your body and taunts you) Kintaro is incredibly difficult, unlike in Trilogy. I am sure theres lots more one could think of.

Yes, it does. Works fine on mine, especially with the faster loading set in the PS Main Screen.

Wow, from out of the dark comes Jenn Dolari. Haven't seen a trace of you for years! If you are wondering, I don't know you...just of you.

Nice to see you back.

Hey Jenn, it's been a long time. Remember me from AGMK (PuPz)? I sent you the PSX MKII. :D

By the way, as far as backups go, PS2 won't play those on its own.

Eh, I'm around. I'm not the biggest fan of MK5, so there's little for me to talk about anymore.

Mine works just fine without a mod chip. But then my PS2 is open, the screws to the CD-Area are gone, my warranty is very void and I use a Pro Action Replay to get it to play.
MK2 is on Play station 1???

I though it only came out for the Sega Saturn, Genesis, and Nintendo

It is extremely rare. I have seen pics of the box online. I have never played it. I think Kombat knows more about it, as well as others here I'm sure.

It's not all that good. The fighting "area" is off, the load times are atrocious, a lot of the sounds are missing, and the music is terrible.

It's basically a direct port of the Saturn version.

Hopefully the Midway Arcade versions coming out are emulated versions of the arcade. I'd shell out cash for that.

Dolari, the Saturn and PSX are PC ports.
The PSX has the same exact music as the Saturn and PC. smile
Most of the audio sounds are cropped (possible CD space?), but the sounds are high quality. smile

I wasn't talking about just mods, hence my choice of words, heh. There's also a boot disc called Breaker Pro that's supposed to work on both PSX and PS2. Not sure if it's bogus, though.
