I like. I have a suggestion though, it would look helly better if the entire backround was black.

black? u sure?
well i'll experiment at home, you do realise that means having to change text colors to lighter ones like lime, orange, yellow etc....would it b better if i had a dark watermark as a background as opposed to my current light-coloured one?

I'll take a closer look. I just noticed the grey backround for the borders and what not. Instant thought was "black = better".

Why exactly would you have to change everything if you replaced the grey watermark backround with black? Either or it doesn't matter. I like the way it's set up and that's all that counts.

if you're talking about the borders to black then that can be arranged, its actually silver, at least it should be cos that is what i assigned in my html document, let me play around with it, i'll change the borders to black

I like that now. But now there's black marks on the dragon logo. Were they there before?

Also I noticed the water effects under Quan and Shang, did you used to have another MK site years ago where the intro page had and MK logo I think with water effects under it like that?

i did have a site b4, but it was rubbish, the wavyness is actually a java applet whose source code i downloaded from another site, i sorted out the marks on the background, it was cos i set the background color to black.
i'll just leave it as it was before

You're going to be making life a bit hard for yourself if you plan on making individual pages to fill all those links. It'll take you a long time. I would suggest creating a template and using Server Side Includes (I don't know if Geocities supports SSI's though). That's a technique I used to create my site, Blood-Sports.net (a fighting game website) and it works wonders. The main page code fits in one notepad window. It's great.

I like the way it resizes to fit the browser window and the desktop resolution. That's a good feature and I really wished more sites did that instead of confining themselves to a small area on larger resolutions.

I noticed in your code that you have quite a bit of java script in there. I tend to steer clear of java script...but...if you are going to use that on every page, I strongly advise that you rip it out of the main HTML file and put it into an external JS file and link to that for easier referencing. That'll save you a lot of pain further down the track. Its easier to change that kind of thing now than when you have a lot of pages on the site...trust me on that one, I know that from experience .

Hope that helps...if you want some more advice in running a website let me know...cause I've been doing it myself for a while...as you can see :)

My honest opinion:

1. Don't use the wavy applet for your pictures, its beyond cliche. And, if you're on a slow connection it often takes forever to load and screws things up.

2. A bunch of your games and shiznit do not work in mozilla/netscape. You might either want to look into a compatible code or just put up a warning or something.

3. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the grey as the background color.

4. You might want to consider changing the organizations of your links (i.e. just having the "headings" links on your main pages) because they're a lot of lazy people who don't want to scroll (like me).

Just my thoughts, you don't have to take me seriously.

thats exactly what ive done, im getting my template sorted out first, before i add content. the layout for the pages is gonna be the same, except for the content. im actually using homesite, and i find it very easy to construct web pages using the software, its basically a html editor.
The reason why i havent worked on the site, is cos the template is important to setup first.
and like u said, its best to organise it early rather than later, when we'd have to change more pages etc.
Thanks for your input though, i appreciate it

thanks for your input kaligoddess. Your opinion does count cos its ppl like u, the users who im designing the web site for, that i want to take into account.
i'd like to see white pointers comments on what you said, and as for the games, im thinking of sticking with the disabed games, as most browsers can handle the scripts.
any suggests for background color?
shall i just the background image i used in the content part of the page?
also suggests on how to show links?
i'd like to keep the wavy applet as it would IMO make the site stand out a little, an alternative suggestions?
Thanks for your input

Let's see... personally, I'm a fan of black for backgrounds, but thats just my taste in things.

I don't really have any suggestions on how to reorganize the links, because I'm struggling with that problem on my own site.

As for the applets, there really isn't a substitute I can think of thats reasonably similar. I guess just make sure you have the smallest/fasted loading file you can for them.
