I have decided (since I had some free time) to put together some of my matches on kaillera, at the mk games(mk1->umk3)...nothing specials in fact , but however there are rather intense moments ...

in fact I recently have deleted the folders with the mk1 and mk2 matches cause I thought the umk3 matches were better...so , right now there is only umk3 stuff on my page (and other things but that are not related to mk so...)

yes I'm nafa ...why? you have heard of me?

you guys jump excessively, but the air throws done at like 1 inch off the ground are cool. reptile was pretty good at being elusive while invisible also.

Not to mention he is a lagger. You can't play a decent quality game against him, no matter how good your connection is if you live in the US. There is practically no difference in game quality playing him on European and US servers. So I would take those matches with a grain of salt. He thinks he's really good, but I have seen people slaughter him who don't claim to be the best.

sindel vs reptile is a good one really. i actually played a lot with nafa and have to say that he is incredible fast and has an awesome refleks.

i noticed that the sound plays a little early than the picture. is it just me or its just like that recorded?

I'm going to have to disagree with Paula and Randy on this one. I think he's got a long way to go, and should come back next year. Honestly.

psychosonik you're right , the sound comes indeed a bit earlier than the video...I hope I will fix that soon, but I don't know yet what the cause is. maybe it's my vid editor, anyway the quality is good enough to enjoy the matches, but i will check this later.

mk2kung I wish to remind you that on usa servers, even if our game is lagged cause of my huge ping, I'm in an even worse position than you there since I got delay as hell in addition to suffering from the lag too...and even like that I match or beat you.
you can exhibit proudly the matches where you have kicked my ass when I still was keyboard ,but I guess you will never show anyone of our following matches on psx pads...I'm indeed better than you in mostly of these...and I don't care if it doesn't suit you...
you always have been a bad loser from the start, but I can understand you : indeed you can't stand to lose against an unknown cause you have spend a lot of time and energy in playing the mk series and making your combovids...I guess you have a good reason to be a bad loser then.
anyway there will be again probably some friends of you who will rush here like trolls and say "ahah, Matt is very good, better than you, you don't know what you're talking about " I can understand all of these guys, since they are your friends (like konqrr) but it's always boring for me to read such gibberish, especially when I play that series since the very beginning too.

take my matches with a grain of salt if you wish, but I can assure you that no one is able to "slaughter" me at mk games...and it's not vain to say that, it's just about being realistic... when you say that you have seen people smashing me, you always talk about the time when I was keyboard...grow up man, this time is finished, thanx to my dear USB adaptator.
moreover I already have seen some other people on that site complaining about you; indeed you always say you got lag and delay when you lose, or that your opponent has had an outrageous luck, the point is you can't stand to lose, moreover against players you have never heard about before(like myself)...
you say I got a long way to go? lol Do I have to remind you of the results of our encounters? ... my skills definitely allow me to say that I'm among the best umk3 players since the results of all my matches on kaillera...and I know a lot of people who agree with me on that.

one last point, you definitely under estimate some european players, I indeed know some of them who are about your level too, stop your cliché by putting chicago as the center of the mk universe, there also are "old generation" mk hardcore fans from all around the world (I mean the generation who was 13/14 when the first 3 mk games were released, like you and me) so stop it please. I'm an outstanding mk player, I know a lot about all the mks, even the two last ones on PS2 that I must admit I don't play as much as I play the old ones. Each time I see one of your posts where you say "he is an average player " you definitely lost your credibility at the eyes of a lot of people ... you're ridiculous and your lack of intellectual honesty is overwhelming.

i dont use kaillera or ps2 or anything besides arcades so i dont have any experience with computer mk versions. if there is even a possiblity of a time lag, then the system is unfair. If people have the option different controllers it is unfair. someone may also have a better computer which can visually or technically alter the fairness. for this reason, i dont see how anyone can argue they are better than anyone. but i guess it's impossible to play everyone on the arcade, especially someone from another country. From watching nafa's videos he doesnt appear that great like WOW or something, i would say he would be a lot easier to beat if his jump kick abuse was taken advantage of. his opponent kept trying to sweep him out of jump kicks over and over, and the sweep would just get blocked. sweeps are only used as anti airs when you are really far away. someone with good positioning skills would have a lot of fun juggling his ass via HP's, HK's, run unders, crouching HK's (really cool and rare juggle starter) not to mention anyone with a teleport would force him to quit the annoying bombardment of JK's.

heh , its only a game , i dont get mad when i lose to someone , and when someone tells that hes the greatest MK player i only laugh... theres no need to be so serious with games. Besides if youre really good you dont need to prove that with any words.. just play And i see some persons dont realize that there are MANYYYYYYYY players which dont have acces to MAME and internet...

I blame the decline of arcades for all of this. If there were just good arcades to play at, people would do their playing there where you win or you lose. But with netplay there are so many other factors that it can always be argued either way.

I say again, as I have said for a long long time.
Netplay sucks.

I know there is no other way then Kaillera right now, and I am in the school of thinking that if I can't play it the way it should be played, I'd rather not play it at all.

Off for some UT2k4....

jtaylo, when you play with an undecent ping like myself, you always haven't the choice of your strategies...you can see it in the jax vs reptile match that I miss twice my combo in the very beginning...also when I try to do my hachet move with nightwolf, human smoke is however able to do his jumpkick without being touched cause of the obvious delay etc ... 108 ms is heavy...moreover I'm obliged to play the nose in my screen in a quite little window cause of the recordings obligation of camtasia...I almost feel like laughing when I think of all the disadvantages I have against my opponents on the Usa servers... I guess I still have to try playing them with only one available hand lol...anyway, even like that I win more matches than them, and that summaries pretty well the situation I think.

Unlike dreemernj, I don't think all the problems would be resolved with the arcade machines, unfortunately there always will be bad losers who will say "hey this is not fair, my buttons answer less good than yours", "you always pick the same characters", "you always use the same combos "etc...
the problem is as much the bad losers than the netplay....I'm sure Matt would still find something to say even if he lost in arcade.

these mk games are not in themselves important, but it's the behaviour of some players that irritates me. I want more vidmatchs on this site and less blabla. Hope it will be heard.

I think the arcades are the best way to prove your worth in the MK series. There is just something about having your opponent right next to you that makes the whole match intense. Those who grew up in arcades know what I mean but there is just something about it. The UMK 3 arcade machine is how its meant to be played I think. With sticks, not pads, and standing, not sitting.

I am not a fan of netplay either. Mainly because I would lag and I just like the arcade better. Theres no ifs, ands, or butts about it, in the arcade if you lose you lose, thats it.

All this talk I wish I had people to play against here. :(

You are not better than Moe. You are not better than Thrower. You are not better than Konqrr. You are not than MikeJ119. You are not better than LordDarkstalker. You are not better than DreemerNJ. You are not better than the Prophet. I have played all these people in what I would consider ideal, to near ideal conditions, whether it be in person or online.

I don't know how to explain it to you other than, I've played these people, and I've played you, and I am able to ascertainthe level of ability from what you do, when you do it, and how often, and how difficult it is for you to win when I am playing but at a fraction of my true ability.

The only problem I have with Nafa is that he brazenly comes on here and posts skewed results of matches, not just the videos for people to check out and judge for themselves, but he tries to make it seem like an accurate evaulation can be made from them. I know for a fact it is impossible to play a serious game against him because of the distance between us. It's impossible to not have lag. However I can play against LDS who lives in NYC, and have 99% perfect games where you can play based on reaction and not guessing. (It's possible for Netplay to not suck Mike and it's unfortunate that you always seem to experience it when it does)

When I get a chance I'll post some matches with LDS and you will see the enormous difference in response to attacks, and use of tactics with two people who have less than 30 ms to a server. Playing Nafa on European and US servers I can tell you he plays exactly the same regardless of his ping, he just a certain style that is based more on chance, even when chance doesn't apply. I also have come to terms with the fact that I'll never be able to play you in an arcade, where it is possible to play reactionary, and that would put him at a serious disadvantage.

Dreem, netplay doesn't suck all the time. If you play with someone that is close to you, it's not so bad. Me and psyclobex live awhile away from each other, he's in New York, and I'm in Georgia. We have perfect matches, and it's pretty much the same with MK2KB as well.

I do have problems with Nafa though. You know that if we played in a US server, I'd have the advantage. But when we played at the Euro server, you had the advantage. You kicked my ass because I had a half-second lag the whole time we played. It sucked major ass, and I hate it. But there's nothing I can do about it.

I agree with everyone the says that arcade play is the best. There is nothing like looking at a defeated opponent in the face. I love it. I used to do it, but since my move from North Carolina, I've had no chance. The last time I actually played UMK3 at an arcade was at a movie theater near here, and I played on my own. That was awhile back. That machine is gone now, so I can't play anymore. Damn, at least some of you guys have an arcade, with any MK game in it.

About recorded matches, I have a few from the N64 MKT. Yes I know, that game sucks, but it's all I had at the time. My Matches. I'm 1st player, and my brother is 2nd player. Thanks to MK2KB for putting them on his site.

I'm now pretty sure we will go nowhere with you, you're even not a consistent person : indeed how can you judge and fully appreciate my level of skills if our matches were lagged as hell all the time like you said, not to mention the delay problem?
and if I wanted to be vain, I even would say that I'm most probably the best between us, based on our results (20/19 for me).
you always repeat the same shit : "mikej119 is better than you", "you just got lucky outrageous wins against me" , "you're far from my level" and always without any valid points. I even can't remember when that boring rivality has begun, but please let's stop this cause it really makes me tired, and I can't help myself answering to your posts ... so, if we can't get on well together, just let's do like the other didn't exist ok ?

20/20, there was a single match on a US server the night we played on the Euro server in which I won.

Have you ever gotten a decisive runaway win against me where it wasn't a struggle?

we just have played 20 matches during the night you're talking about. the first one on an european server (scorpion vs smoke), but immediatly after having lost , you told me that you had terrible lag , so we moved on to an Us server where you have won, and then we went for the 18 last matches to electronic dojo...the match you mention has been already counted ... which lead us to 20/19 for me.
if runaway wins mean fast or easy wins, yes I think I already have had that kind of wins against you.

I 'm sure about the 20/19 for me, and I think (but without being sure) that there were rounds where I have had a cheap/easy victory ... but if I go wrong at the second point, then I'm simply wrong but I'm not unsincere. anyway why you ask me that since you still have the vids?

mikej, I had installed AIM just to be able to set up matches with your American people, since I'm like a fish in the water when I play these mk games.
but I have uninstalled AIM for a long time now, because i couldn't set up matches any more with you, indeed each time I pm you, you didn't answer..so I believed you were angry and that's why I have given up however I will play you again sometimes if you wish.

why would i be angry? i just never was there to answer your ims. Maybe you havent gotten a clue yet, but i do have a normal social life that goes along with playing games online with people. Like I said before, if you want to have an ego, thats fine as long as you dont bring me into your little worthless arguements.
