Why did they black out the screen during his fatality?! I loved that fatality in MK I, and I think that they should of bringed it back!
Although I had a few ideas of what he did to his opponent during the black screen, I was really dissapointed when they blacked out the screen!

They didn't take the time to make the dangling spine. That's all. So they just blacked it out, which was ingenius because it led to years of discussion about the game.

But, the spine section could have been made in minutes. It has very few different colours and in animation only has 3-4 frames of swinging. (That is if they were trying to replicate the Mk 1 spine in a new form.)
They didn't bother... I'd rather he had no Fatality then a blackout, personally.
I know what you're saying about the lack of a visible fatality leading to years of discussion. It was a smart move, but I'd still rather have seen the spine rip.

When I first saw that fatality, I thought Sub just struck and pulled victim's eyes out and that's why the screen went black
But they just didn't have time or it was to much work to make the rest of the animation. Similar situation was with the Pit 2 stage fatality. That kind of stuff is a little bit disappointing, I must say.

The scorpion pack fatality fades to black as well.
The Sub Zero one does it just because of their laziness. I think the scorpion pack one is because if they showed what happened, all the scorpions would be overlapping so much it would look totally stupid. Just think, it would look like a scorp or two on each side with tons of different arms and legs popping out doing moves.

Back when it first came out in UMK3, some friends of mine called it "The Nose Pinch of Doom." :)
