Maybe he will come back to his former glory in Deception or MK7.

I dont think he got ruined. He got better in it.
He defintally got improved since his days in Mortal Kombat 2. So I dont think he did.

its gonna suck not seeing him as a ninja no more but hopefully they can make his lizard form look better next time around.

I loved the new reptile... He is finally getting hiw own look and its awesome how he regresses to a more primal state.

Though i have to agree i prefered reptile as a ninja, and crab style does look funny, but it is far from a joke. Technically it is the 3rd best fighting style in the game, under Pi Gua(the best) then Drunken Fist.

Reptile is far from a joke in DA. After the first hit of his full branch he has a guranteed 42-48% combo depending on stage postitioning. Being that that is probally one of the most, if not the most powerful combo in the game without the use of a Nejin I think it is extremely foolish to call Reptile or his crab style a joke.

Another note on crab style, not only does it have an extremly effective mix up game with the use of b3 or d3/d4, it can BDC after 1,1,1 or 1,1 giving you the advantage every time you go in for a combo and miss. Plus it has a reversal that is extremely effective after a BDC being that 90% of the time an opponent goes in for an attack after they have blocked a combo.

Any counter arguement I'd love to hear being that all you can say is that the form itself looks silly.

I think the main problem with Reptile in MKDA was the fact that his primary body structure remained entirely humanoid. What I mean is, they basically took a human body, gave it scales, a lizard head, spines, a tail, and reptillian hands and feet. IMO, it didn't quite work right. Also, I wasn't crazy about either of his costumes. But I do think it's cool that they changed him so drastically from his ninja days.

True that, but then again, look at him in MK4/MKG.

I think they're going from bad to worse with reptile, the best on is with his ninja costume.

But why did they have to make reptile more lizard like in MK4 and MK:DA. If they were gonna make him a lizard he shudof been rite from the beggining. He looks to cartooney, im not saying he is a bad character, im just saying he lost a lot of his trademark character from the earlier games that made him so special (invisibility, force balls, mask ect.)

I'm okay with it. They only made him a lizzard because he'll become the Dragon King in MK Deception, I think.

His DA appearence is much more pleasing than his mk4 look wich I HATE WITH A PASSION!They should keep his mkII ninja suit as an alternate outfit.

His look in DA wasn't prefect look wise, but it fit the story perfectly. Even in DA he was still regressing from his human form. I think he still has(or had?) a few more stages to go before he reached the level of evolution he was going down to. Which is why he was still humanoid.

Now about Reptile losing tradmark... How in the hell is he losing tradmark? Sure, he lost his invisiblity, but honestly that is the only thing he lost that actually was his in the first place. Ninja mask is a Reptile tradmark? ha! I think you should start up your copy of MKT and just take alook at the chachter selection screen. Off the top of my head I can think of 6 other ninjas with the exact same mask. Only a pallet swap.

Don't get me wrong, I loved him as a ninja, just as much as I do now. But he has certianly not lost any personality. He, and all the other ninjas, are only gaining their own. Which they should have had to begin with. Until DA there where no real differences in ninja costumes. Now you could make Reptile yellow, Sub-Zero green and Scorpion freaking pink and you'd still beable to tell who it is. Thats the way it should be.

Now that technology is good enough ,all the ninja's are able to express their own personality and show off their unique clan uniforms properly.
Now he/they are their own persons ,you gotta start somewhere .The way I see it ,Reptile was an easy combination of Sub-zero and Scorpion ,plus blue+yellow=green ,easy as that ^_^

Sorry not his mask but he just does not seem to be the charater he use to be in the prevoius MK games, to me he was like a completly new character with no reptile personality. The mask was cool put it that way

I love that Reptilian mask, he should have had it in MKT and for his MK4 alternate outfit, or even covering his mouth for his Reptilian form of both MK4 and MKDA - but keeping the same 'regressed' look for the rest of his body. Oh and please change his Crab style!

I would like to see Reptile in MKD (despite the DK) and have a Reptilian look, but also have his classic ninja outfit as an alternate. Maybe his force balls and invisibility will return one day?


But what I'd really like one day is to have MK1 Reptile, with a redesigned version of his outfit from MK1/MK2, complete with his freeze, spear and slide in a future game!

i coudl not stand reptile in the old "ninja" days, and in mk4 he looked like a bag of shit painted green.

in my opinion, reptile is the best in mk:da, heh, easily seen in my sig in mk:da i always thought he looked like a pimp, could of had a super secret outfit of him in a pink suit, pink feather hat with a pimp cane as a weapon, and for the fatality he gets in a pink cadilac and runs the opponent over...

I agree 100%. It's not even because he was a lizerd, but because he was a non-intimidating goof ball lizard. He could have looked sooo vicious and brutal, but instead they made him into the head nerd of the "lizerd geek squad".

Am I the only one who remembers that Reptile is a damn Ninja! In Deadly Alliance, he looks like an ugly gecko on two legs! What made Reptile great was the fact that he comes across as a powerfull ninja only to pull off his mask and reveal his true self, now it doesn't evan look like he should be capable of walking on two feet!
