Since it is being asked for by popular demand, here is Shang Tsung's TRUE form - as hand-drawn by John Tobias, and made available through Game Pro magazine. Thanks to FatSatan for the scan.

So in essense, thats how shang tsung would look like if he didnt try to transform himself?

Okay, i can accept that, but whom is he excactly trying to copy with his mkda form, with the beard and that? Thats one hell of a video game character, hes kinda very (I think this is the word) sosciopathic, if you ask me. One hell of a person real or video game character though.

I had always imagined Shang Tsung looking like Satan, in MK2, the actor who plays him very much reminds of what a humanoid Satan should look like.

I think the way he looks in MK:DA is best. I can't imagine a creature like the one pictured doing crane or snake style the stance would look odd to say the least.

I am curious as to why he needed Kahn's help to make him look young then!

He didn't need Kahn's help to "look" young, he actually needed Kahn's help to REALLY BE young again. The difference is that Shang Tsung could then open up portals to Earth Realm freely.

I remember that pic!

Hmm, if it's the same GamePro that I'm thinking about, maybe someone who talks to FatSatan can get him to scan the interview where Boon himself CLEARLY STATES that Ermac DOES show up in MK1.

Didn't you say that you actually saw Ermac in MK1?
EDIT - Sorry, misread that, thought you said it clearly states that he DOESN'T appear

Whether or not Ermac was in mk1 is hard to say.
It is said that there is 1 in a million chance you can get a glitch that would become him.
Finaly in umk, more light was shed on this, it said in his bio that he was very well hidden in mk1, so, just some facts here.......

So you are saying that being young makes him look human? It still does not make sense.

The Ermac thing is a little off topic for this, but officially, there is no Ermac in any version of MK1 for any system. It is rumored a guy hacked his Genesis MK1 in order to make a red ninja with the name Error Macro but I have never seen this nor do I believe it. Another guy on a special release of MK1 in the arcade that had a hardware change claimed to have stumbled upon an error that created a red ninja and took a polaroid of it. I have also never seen this, but it is in a gamepro magazine, I still don't believe it is an individual character because it's not repeatable, and he is the onyl person with evidence. It's a pallet corruption of Scorpion, and it says Scorpion for the name, and he has his moves. ERMACS is listed in the the game audits, and was removed in the next version, thus proving, Ermac was not intended to be in MK1.
In MK1 for Genesis however, there are hidden characters that are pallet glitches of other characters for Reptile. If you get a double flawless, no blocking, fatality on the Pit in an endurance stage, you will fight Reptile, and then a messed up version of one of the other characters will come out, with all kinds of funky moves and fatalities and they are virtually impossible to beat. They are still called Reptile however, not Ermac, or Error Mac. I want to read this interview where it's said that he is there.

No one said being young 'makes' him look human. He looks human even in MK1, just an old human.

Shnag Tsung is a shape shifting demon.

He was old which is probably why he assumed the look of an old man when he fought in MK1. He looked how he was OLD.

When shao kahn restored his youth he took on an appearance befitting of his age.

you know what, i think that considering the fact that shang tsung's true appearance is that of a demon, midway should make a game or something explaining shang's story. it would be nice to see how be became a demon, or however they wanna tell it. that would be something to look foward to. i made a thread a while again asking if people thought a shang tsung game would be cool. this post only strengthens my thoughts of shang having a game similar to mk: mythologies.

Actually, the polaroid you're talking about was in EGM, NOT GamePro (it was their "Most Wanted Trick of the Month"), and the guy said he "accessed" Ermac beating Player Two (even though he didn't ACTUALLY fight anybody, he just put quarters in both slots) simply using HP in the Warrior Shrine, like I've mentioned many times before.

The INTERVIEW where Boon states that Ermac was a glitch in MK1 can be found in the SAME GamePro mag that FatSatan scanned to get the Shang pic posted in this thread.

And Quirk, I've NEVER said that Ermac doesn't appear. I've ALWAYS stood by this rumor, and I believed it before I even read that mag. You probably are thinking of Sakura (among others) who STRONGLY don't believe in Ermac's appearance.

I made up my mind; if I went to heaven and had one wish I could get granted I would say, I want to be abole to transorm into different forms!
Then I would try the same thing when shang tsung was kung lao, and once Im in the midway point I would shift back to my original self.
Pretty original huh?

ERMAC IS NOT IN MK1!! That is a FACT. A 100% fact. There has never been any proof at all nor will there ever be. It is just not true.

IT is as true as me saying there is a character in MK1 called Might Fred. The rumour started the same way. Someone SAID it. Please your minds.

As for Shang Tsung's true form. It is bullshit as usual from Midway. The truth is, when MK1 and 2 were made, Shang Tsung was not a demon. He is a sourcerer. He is from Earth. It was only in Mk2 they made up this whole Outworld angle.

He was an old man stoeln from Big Trouble in Little China. Stolen like 99% of their ideas. The ninjas are from some film they saw. Raider is from Big Trouble in Little China too. Johnny Cage IS Jean Claude Van Damme from Blood Sports.

That is why when they now say he is a demon, it makes no sense and has a million and 1 piece of evidence to contradict this.

They never planned anything in the game and keep tacking on brand new, contradictory histories for every character with each new game.
