I wonder, why do you think Scorpion stole Smokes abilities (storylinewise anyway, I know Smoke was only thought of after MK1). I think that if Smoke was at the first tournament like it said in MK2 he was probably helping the original Sub-Zero. Because he has helped Sub-Zero twice we can assume he may have worked with Sub-Zero before MK1 (true they were two different Sub-Zeros but he could have been teamed with the younger because he was the olders partner). In MKM I always got the impression that Scorpion and Sub-Zero have met before, and if Sub-Zero and Smoke worked together often then is it safe to assume that Smoke and Scopion have met. So did Scorpion recognise that maybe Smoke might have been superior to Sub-Zero and he took his abilities or was it somthing else.

Since I have no idea what the hell you just tried to say, I'm just going to squirt out all the info I can think of right now concerning Smoke-Scorpion-Sub-Zero-Sub-Zero:

- Scorpion was killed by Sub-Zero in MKMSZ.
- Scorpion killed Sub-Zero in the mortal kombat tournament.
- Smoke was sent with Sub-Zero to OutWorld to help him complete the original Sub-Zero's task, however, Shang Tsung is currently still alive.
- During the tournament in OutWorld, Scorpion defeated Sub-Zero but spared him after realizing that he was not the original sub-zero.
- During Shao Kahn's invasion on Earth Realm, Smoke became a mindless robot assassin. He was sent to kill Sub-Zero, but we never heard from him again.
- Scorpion escaped the Nether Realm after a failed attempt by Shao Kahn to take over the evil realm.
- After Kahn's invasion, Shinnok invaded and Quan Chi recruited Scorpion to his list of fighters, telling the ninja that Sub-Zero was the true killer of Scorpion's family and clan.
- After beating Sub-Zero, Scorpion was told that Quan Chi was the real murderer. The sorceror is about to transport the ninja back to the nether realm, but Scorpion manages to take Quan Chi back with him.

I hope that helped.

Wasn't part of the Robot Smoke's ending that Sub Zero helped him regain his humanity and that he did still have his soul after all (being a robot apparently means you don't have a soul, don't tell Data that).

Smoke was on Earth, chilling out in Goro's Lair, during the Outworld tournament.

Robo Smoke's ending said he had a soul and all that jazz. It didn't go past the soul thing though, he never got to be human again, cause that human Smoke in UMK3 and MKT was, of course, just a dream in the mind of Robo Smoke.

Maybe all those eyes in Goro's lair were Jade, Smoke, Ermac, Rain, Hornbuckle, and Scarelet.
All of them being mysterious bumping into eachother in the dark.

first off, scorpion never coppied smokes moves, the first time smoke used the spear, in mk3, it looked liked smoke had copied scorpion for the first time.

Smoke copied Scorpion. Look at Human Smoke's UMK3 ending: "Winning the tournament enables Smoke to escape his artificial body. He then devotes his life to study the fighting skills of his counterpart ninjas: Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Reptile." (It goes on, but that's the important part.)

True, but endings don't have to happen, and the ending from MKT might happen too, where they simply say that the Human form of Smoke is just a dream because he can never escape from the robot body.

Ahh I see, I had not read his UMK3 ending only his MKT ending which did not say this. I was under the impression he always had those powers. Thanks for clearing it up.

in all actuality smoke stole scorpions moves. but thats mainly because of how midway made their secret characters (palette swap with someone else's moves) like jade in mk2 had kitana's moves and smoke and noob saibot had scorpion's moves. scorpion was the ninja of choice when it came to giving a secret character moves, but when smoke was robo in mk3 they decided to keep the whole teleport and spear thing but change it up alittle. i guess to compensate for the loss of scorpion (until umk3). thats just my opinion....

Smoke and Noob in MK II do not have all of Scorpion's moves, just the spear. The spear is the only special move they have.

Jade's only Kitana move and only special move period is the fan toss.

i know, but what i meant by that was smoke started out having a spear, after scorpion was around. and storyline wise scorpion was around before smoke as well.

The reality of this is they were to lazy to create new special moves for Noob Saibot and Smoke thats why they both had the spear. There is no reason to try and figure out how Smoke or Scorpion came to start using the spear attack.
