I've heard about MK characters being in NBA Jam, but I don't remember how accurate it was. I know there was a rev 1.0 of Jam that had some funky hidden stuff, like a mini game that was free to play forever.

I also heard about an interview where one of the designers said there were codes to play as cheerleaders that were intentionally very difficult, and because of the NBA's protests were not released and still haven't been. It'd be hilarious if that were true.

this is in fact real. it was version 1.0, and if you have it for mame, or have the actual board, then here are some of the codes. nba jam tournament edition version 1.0:
