thunder staff or hammer of thunder?

In this day i see the final episode of Mortal Kombat Conquest,and during the final fight between him and Shao Kahn,Raiden uses his Hammer of Thunder.
He also had this weapon in MK4(even if his 2 fatality and Kai endind have thunder staff).
However since Mk3 Rayden appears with thunder staff.
hich is better for Rayden:
Staff or Hammer?
To me it's hammer the best weapon,because fit better to him,and make him seem like Thor,the nordic God of Thunder(but also a interesting Marvel Super Hero).

I like the staff style better, but tend to think of the hammer as Radien's BFG.

the staff for raiden as it is the sign of a protector but hammer for dark raiden to show his darkside and changes r nice to show development and it would split him apart from that lightning guy in 'big trouble in little china'wow

Imo,Dark Raiden looks better with the hammer,Good Raiden looks better with the staff.

I would have to say the staff is better.
the staff owns!!
(Hint): use Raiden's staff and the R1 attack on Moloch and he'll go down.
