I'm pretty sure Edenia was separated from Outworld after Kahn was weakened from losing MK3.

That's right. Edenia was seperated from Outworld. Well a lot of realms were seperated prior to Kahn's defeat

here is the tru story behind edenia:Often mistaken for Outworld in the story, Edenia was a peaceful realm
ruled by King Jerrod up until Shao Kahn conquered he and his world. It
then became a part of Outworld for ten thousand years until finally
breaking away at some point between MKT and MKG. Like Outworld, its
people have amazingly long lives. Currently it is peaceful.

So where do Goro's people (Shokan?) come into play? Were they also conquered by Shao Kahn until Goro and Kitana's defeat of Kano's armies?

Goro at one time was allied with shao khan, you need to remember that, and the reason why he went against shao khan is simply because he struck up a friendship with princess Kitana. No Goros race was never really conquered during the war with shao khan, It was edenia he was trying to help, but you also need to remember that Goro got KILLED by Kano's army. (guess who killed him) Yeah, you got it right. (At least I hope you do)

That's not the entire reason...another reason why Goro allied with Kitana is because in MK3 Shao Kahn favored the Centaurs over the Shokan.

Absolutely right Nickodermus. Another reason is that Shao Khan thought Goro was dead by lui kang in mortal kombat one, which may have caused strained relations. (wow that sounds like a middle east thing or something lol.)

That is true. Kahn was backing the Centaurians in slaughtering the Shokans.

So its acurate to say that Outworld played absolutely no part in MK4?

So if Goro was killed...why is he the sub-boss in MK4? Or was he killed after Shinnok's defeat?

He was killed way after.

shao kahn, shang tsung, kintaro, and the former king of the shokan all thought goro was dead after earth's warriors beat him in mortal kombat. he then layed low during mortal kombat 2 and 3 in search of his realm. before returning to his realm he wanted revenge on liu kang for beating him in mortal kombat and stealing his championship long ago. liu kang beat goro again and goro became friends with him and went to his homeland and soon after became king of the shokan. afterwards goro made alliegences with kitana and together they fought their realms to be seperate from the outworld. goro was then severley wounded and died later on in his throne room.

I thought Edenia was like a country or continent in the other dimensional planet "Outworld", and Khan conquered all the kingsoms...

Edenia is one realm... earth is one realm... outworld id one realm.... netherealm is another realm... and so on....
