I really liked the background music in the Tower and Tomb stages in MK2. Overall, MK2 probably had the best soundtrack of all MK games. What do you think?

Overall I think MK3 had the best, and my favorite all music is either the Soul Chamber or Pit 3, but here's what I liked from each
MK1:
Select Screen
Palace Gates
Pit
Throne Room
MK2:
Select Screen
Deadpool
Wasteland
Living Forest
Tower
Kahn's Arena
Goro's Lair
MK3:
Opening screen music to UMK3
Select Screen
Lost
Bank
Temple
Graveyard
Pit3
Soul Chamber
Subway
MK4 had a few I liked but I really don't even consider it a game so ah well.
Street (Techno Remix of Courtyard from MK1)

The music for MKT on PSX is legit CD tracks, however, they are about 97% the actual speed. There were some limitations they had to consider.
The fact that some stages don't start the music the same way as the actual track does, for instance when you uppercut someone through a level, the intro to the music is different, not all of them, but some, and there are little odds and ends here and there that are different. The best source for MK3 arcade perfect themes is MK3 for the PC which I have, the only song that sounds a little different is the Street, but it's one sound effect that is supposed to be a guitar distortion that just sounds odd, but it's perfect otherwise. The MK2 stage musics on MKT are pretty much 100% perfect.

Mortal Kombat
Courtyard- The intro steals it all. It goes perfect while the characters are in their stances.
Throne Room- I love the chinese style in the music.
Throne Room (Genesis)- Sounds like a part in a movie where something's about to happen...I love this more than the Snes' version.
Mortal Kombat II
The Tower**- Flavors as hell. Jax goes perfect with the Sky Tower and it's music.
The Tower (Snes)- Though the tracks were broken down and converted from the arcade's, I like the bass and whistley-like instruments in this theme.
The Armory- Very nice song
Wasteland/Pit II- Nice played vibraphones with brass and reed instruments making the theme go perfect with that lonely purple background.
Wasteland/Pit II (Snes)- Scarier than the arcade's, atleast my personal feel towards it.
Goro's Lair- A blend of sad and horrow played with vibraphones and xylophones.
Mortal Kombat 3/Ultimate/Gold
Kahn's Kave. (UMK3)
The Street- Nice remix of MK's courtyard.
The Bridge- Reminds me of the cartoon series theme "The Mask".
Noob's Dorfen- Every percussion submitted in this theme are hot.
The Church Temple
Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Kombat Tomb- Love it even better than part II's Armory, the screams in the bgm was arranged.
Mortal Kombat 4
Kombat Tomb
The Elder Gods
Forest
That damn correct, papa_boy. I personally think Mortal Kombat II has the best music from the trilogy family.
