I preffer Shao Kahn's MK3 voice, I didn't like the way he said some things in MK2 ("Fatality", "Babality") but I do like his death scream better in MK2 ("No, NO, NNNOOOOOO!!!!!") than in MK3, the only thing I have against Quan Chi's voice is that it's too deep

Yeah. But I think that's it's gotten better each game. But in MK4 and MKDA, it doesn't sound exactly like his MKMSZ voice. In MKD it does. A kind of nasally deep voice. Beautiful.

As for Kahn, I love his MK3 voice too. The way he said "Brutality" is just awesome.

As for Shang Tsung, I don't like his voice. It doesn't sound like how I would picture his voice to sound.

its not quan chi. people around here just assume it is. just like everyone thinks shag was the announcer of mk1, etc. the only announcer that was actually based of a character was shao kahn in mk2, mk3 series and mksm.

What makes you think that the others aren't based off of a character as well?

I'm pretty sure it has been Quan Chi doing the announcing for the past 4 games (MK4 - MKA).

Also, it makes complete sense for Shang Tsung to be the MK1 announcer. It is his tournament.

thru that.

but, richie was the voice for kahn..the only character to ever actually be an announcer. a voice that "sounds like" someone doesnt mean that it is.

like i said, if people wanna actually think that its "quan chi" or "shang tsung" good for them. but facts are facts and those characters were never used and were never ment to be used as voice announcers.

crack open some of those games' sound files and youll be supried what will hear. :D

Quan-Chi's voice is made deeper with computers, it's amplified to sound deeper.

In other words, a voice changer pretty much. They alter the tone to make it deeper.Nobody has a voice that deep and I have a pretty damn deep voice.

I'm familiar with voiceovers and I'm interested in doing them in the future so I have to do my homework on them.

Kahn's voice is NOT amplified, it's Steve Richie's REAL voice believe it or not. It's really deep and excellent for an MK voice.A dark, deep voice that's badass.

I choose Kahn's voice because Quan-Chi's is tweaked via computer effects to sound deeper.

From MK 4- through now, the announcer voice is amplified and made deeper by a computer.

I wish there was a way of me putting sound clips on here some how because I can do many impressions and MK voices are some of them.hehe.

actually, the announcer from MK1 is Shang Tsung, because during the final boss battle (with Tsung) if you get beaten he laughs at you, and it is the same voice as the announcer

as for Quan Chi, people say it is his voice because he has the same voice as the announcer during the endings in MK4 and in Deception's Konquest mode, this is considered enough evidence for most people to say Quan Chi is the announcer, which I happen to believe he is

Yes. You are right.

But I do believe that MKD has a different guy (Max Crawford) doing Quan Chi's voice. He does a really good job.

I know that Max Crawford guy plays the voice of Shang Tsung in Shaolin Monks, atleast before you fight him in Kahn's Arena, he sounds identical to Shujinko

Yeah, well Shujinko shares pretty much the same voice as the real Max Crawford, so no surprises there.

I love Quan Chi's announcer voice in MK4/Gold, it is my favourite from the entire series. MK1 Shang, MK2/3 Kahn and the recent games all do a good job (remember the MKd trailer where Baraka kills himself and the announcer says "Hara Kiri" and proceeds with a maniacal laugh? That was awesome.) Shang in MK1 was great too, but the deep, dark voice of Quan Chi just fit perfectly with the mood of the game, as well as with the remainder of the soundtrack.

Yes, Scorpio but it's still messed around with to make deeper. That was my point.

Where Max Crawford's Jinko in MK:D wasn't messed around with(it's his voice just changing to an oldman)

And the same with Steve Richie's doing Kahn's in MK2, MK3/UMK3.It's his natural voice, very deep and no need to be altered with the computer.

i havent been proven wrong. no where was it mention that those people were the announcers. people just assume that since kahn was the mk2/ mk3 boss and was the announcer, that it was like that in most mk games. and its not.

mkflegend Wrote:

i know that was your point, but you wre just incorrect. they dont amp it unless they have trouble hearing it in the game. the only thing they altered was the ptich im pretty good with audio programming, so i think i know what im taling about. all you gotta do is record your voice then change the pitch, and you would sound exactly like the mk announcer. all the fighters grunts and sounds are all the mk teams voices with the pitch down lower. depending on the situation, sometimes they ad an echo effect.

i got a pretty cool audio program.. you can import any mk sounds..raise the pitch, and hear the persons real voice before it was altered.
