I really can't say who the better sorcerer is. Both are equally deceitful, and both seem to have their weaknesses. For Shang Tsung, his weakness is obvious; cutting off his supply of souls in any way weakens him. For Quan Chi, I'd have to say being in the Netherealm with no ruler on his side. How is it that before Shinnok's defeat in MK4 that his sorcery did not weaken the longer he stayed in the Netherealm, yet it did after Scorpion took him to the Netherealm with him? A simple explanation would be that the fact that Quan Chi had Shinnok on his side kept him from being weakened in the Netherealm, or then again, the law of the Netherealm seems to be "survival of the fittest".

Of course, Shang Tsung has an almost exclusive specialty in necromancy, while Quan Chi has more versatile sorcery up his sleeve, yet, cannot steal souls or shapeshift. It's a tough one here.

Yep...when I saw the movie I was thinking, "well I guess this should put an end to all the 'who's the better sorcerer' threads!"

All hail Quan Chi's pwnage of Shang!

I have to say I was shocked that the majority picked Quan Chi. This is the same guy who thinks its cool to wear modified versions of football shoulder pads. This is the same guy who looks like something out of a gay strip club. This is the same guy who's only means of scaring people is THROWING GREEN SKULLS. You know who ELSE did something like that....Quacker Jack from Darkwing Duck!

Lets compare.

History: Shang lead Goro and others in Mortal Kombat/ Quan magically appears with the notion of killing Scorpions family and clan when the origional story pinned Sub-Zero with it. Wow because, thats a legacy.

Intelligence: Shang consintrates on staying alive, I mean if I had his curse I'd flip flop to the winning side. He also creatively uses souls to develope his fighting by way of tech or morph/ Quan has a pitiful obession with obtaining power. What kind or what he plans to do with it I don't even think HE knows.

Appearance: Shang looks like a Samurai with a bad attitude/ Quan looks like a clown with a bad attitude.

Power: Shang has soul manipulating ability, he can morph into other fighters, steal souls for life, shoots various types of fireballs, and not to mention a champion of Mortal Kombat/ Quan throws green skulls, in addition to his various magic tricks that aren't really defined he has the amazing ability to make people laugh when looking at him.

Who's the better of the two?

With Shang 4 and Quan 0......I'd say its kind of one-sided
