It's okay, I didn't play the game that much because it was a rental, + my friend was being paranoid thinking i'm going to lose it once I take it home . Anyways the ending videos was very sweet idea, but like always they rushed the game and thats a bad thing.

If you're at the arcade MK4 is fun to pop a few quarters into and play for a few minutes. The problem with MK4 is that it just simply did not have the depth that other fighting games in the arcade had at the time. Although I hate Tekken, I can honestly see why all the kids in my school were playing Tekken3 instead of MK4 back in 97/98. Each charecter had thier own specific combos, looks and what not. MK4 on the other hand had every charecter have the exact same HP,HP,HK,HK combo. Hell, they even used the exact same charecter model for most of the charecters with the exact same captured motions.

MK4 is... eh, coulda been better. Could have been worse too. Doesn't rock.

Well...I think MK4 was a pretty good game, but to me, it needed a bit more in the gameplay area and perhaps a couple of other things and then it would have been a 10 in my opinion.

They only reason I had fun with it for about 4 years is because I was able to mod it by skinning, changing character models, and other neat shit with the sound.

I would have liked MK4 better if the graphic were better and everyone had their own unique moves instead of the same looking high punch, low punch, low kick, high kick, and etc. They didn't even have any good combos. It was all button mashing.

Whoawhoawhoa... You modded MK4? For which system? I cracked the DC MKgold to fit on a CDR so I could play around with the files, but I never knew how to mess with any of the skins or models. Can you tell me how you did this?

i loved mk4 but thats cuz i loved every mk game, and i was actually extremly happy to see it in 3d i realized it wasnt the greatest of graphics but it was a pretty good game visually for its time

Actually, MK4 was my second favorite because of MK4Strip.
I have a huge collection of characters I created, one for every costume in the game, which is about 40+ characters.
So yeah, it rocks.

I don't even remember the newcommers names. Only Shinnok and Quan Chi.

I do recall it not being that bad. The Fatalities got kind of disturbing though,like reptiles.....

He might just like Reiko from it, not the game itself.

dont get me wrong, i love MK but to say u love MK 4 beacuse u love everything that is MK is dum, if you get past the fact that it is an MK game and look at the actual game itself it blows (with the exception of a few) but over all it was a shitty game.IMO

Hmm...well I don't love EVERYTHING that has to do with Mortal Kombat, but I say MK4 was enjoyable.....

while ill admit there were some things that were enjoyable, mostly Quan Chi beating the shit outta u with ur own leg, but imo other than that the fatalities were kinda lame and so was the back story.

Most people complain about MK4 lack of depth. Honestly, I think its a great game when your playing wiht someone who isn't very familiar with fighting games. Since the game mechics are so simple its easy for someone to pick up on how to play very quickly. I still pop MK Gold into my dreamcast every once in a while. It's a fun game to play. I haven't been disapointed by any of the Mortal Kombat games. I've liked them all.

It's weird, but I actually enjoyed MK4/Gold better than MK:DA because it still had Liu Kang, the endings are IMO 10x greater than MK:DA, and plus MK:DA didn't even go to the arcade.

1st off let me say that I like all MK fighting games, including MK4. MK4 was great at bring MK in 3-D, but it is far from my fav MK game. i am not saying it is bad. I wish more stuff was in it. I would give MK4 a B-.

I agree. MK4 was o.k , but was also rushed. Most rushed games don't have certain things that could have made them better than a lot of games out there.

Not me.
I really love MK, especially itd mystic atmosphere, and MK 4 did not have it at all. And some characters like Reiko, Jarek and Kai SUCKED.
