Was it Goro/Kintoro/Motoro/Moloch?
Mine was Kintoro, he kicked my ass so many times the first time I played the arcade of MK2 (memories) and plus Kintoro had that big loud ass crowd to back him up.
How could you forget that memorable roar from the crowd.

My favourite Sub Boss was Kintaro.
Goro was weird looking in MK1. I also didnt like how he jsut appeared in MK4.
Motaro was OK, but not as menacing as Kintaro. Moloch wasnt very difficult to beat. Noob-Smoke was a lame idea, and had no tie to onaga, so i fail to see why they were the Sub Boss anyway.
Kintaro was big, mean looking, menacing, and pretty difficult to beat.

I thought Kintaro and Moloch were the best sub bosses.

Kintaro for me! lol that friggen guy had my slammin the controller to my SNES so many times, Thang shattered!! lol
Goro- hard, but not in a fun way, he was frustrating
Kintaro- Fun, challenging and once you found out how to beat him you can have a hell of a good time
Motaro- Awesome looking, but he was kinda cheap, same power moves over and over.
Goro (MK4)- Kinda showed up out of nowhere, cheap hitting and had a weird look to him over all.
Moloch- Cheap CHEAP CHEAP!!! (Thats all i have to say, i used cheap moves on him becuase thats all i could use to win)
Noob-Smoke- Mini-bosses? i think not.

have to say kintaro, he was the hardest one, seemed almost invincible, and had the teleport jump attack, which was awesome.
goro acted retarted in mk1 that he was easy
motaro was easy, just get a good kombo, which i did for a lot of characters
goro in 4 was jst to cheap
moloch is easy, like motaro
even though they are before onaga evry single time, i don't think noob-smoke count.

Kintaro for me also. Goro is a classic, but I think Kintaro will always be like the bigger, badder Goro.

Yah that's pretty much how I look at it as well.
