They probably won't bring him back since he was really a big joke to start with. What's his face liked Prince, so Purple Rain was a joke on that.

they never explained what happened to him, or even if he chickened out of the battle like his ending stated. I think it would be cool if they didn't bring him back as a ninja, but as a long haired dude in a coat with a spear for a weapon, and Reiko turns out to be his father.

I don't see a point why he should return. We have enough nijas already and enough Edenians too. Plus, his powers aren't very original to begin with. He however maybe has a personal feeling, but i doubt it.

The only final bits of info we know about Rains story is that Kitana told him the truth about what happened to there race, and that Kahn was responsible for its annihilation. Rain became enranged and went on a suicide mission to destroy Kahn because he wanted to prove his loyalty and such to Kitana for betraying his race for so long. Thats pretty much all that happened so far. Rain went to go after Kahn and no one knows what happened.

Rains a cool character that has great story potential IMO. I hope they put him in MK7 all revamped with his own unique look and abilities so hes no longer a pallet-swap looking ninja. They did it with Ermac, so i'm sure they could do the same with Rain. After people saw Ermacs revamped look they went crazy and he instantly had dozens of fans.

For Rains look I would want him to look something like an edenian knight. It would look bad ass IMO. And his special abilities could involve weather and such.

Actually you mistaked Rain for Reptile. Rain served Khan out of fear of punishment and death. Kitana revealed his origin, and Rain possibly fought alongside with her. or justsimply stayed with Khan, but his fate in both versions is uncertain.

Yeah! a cool fatality idea is his storm powers could lift him into the air, while storm clouds gather around him. he takes his spear and dives downward 90mph, straight into the opponent.

I really dont care if they bring Rain back or not cause i didnt really like him when he was around...But if they did bring him back as an Edenian Knight that would be so much cooler than the 'prince' look.

He just seemed like so much of a joke I doubt they would bring him back. That'd be like bringing back the Joust character.

Yeah but dont forget, Ermac was originally just an "error" and they made him into an awesome character.

Same with Noob Saibot. He was just a joke that was a tribute to Ed Boon's and John Tobias's last names spelt backwards.

Ermac was a legend that still resonates throughout the MK community. Everybody talked about him, there were fake news articles about him and everything.

I do consider Noob a joke also and would be very happy if he had never come back because he is kinda stupid, but he was at least a powerful hidden character since his first appearance, and the name sake of the programmers like so many things (the signs in the subway, the Boonyard, the realm of Rellim Ohcanep).

Rain was a couple of animations to make the programmers chuckle. The only reason I can see for them sticking him into the home systems was that he was another pallet swap and they only needed to create a water ball and a lightning bolt. His story was blah and they didn't bother to balance him (broke Noob even worse), but again I wish he was gone too :P

I liked Rain and Noob in classic mk games, but noob's name is just so.... well.... dumb and noobish!

I still like rain. he's just as much a joke as ermac and noob. and that realy dosent matter. yes we all get the "purple rain" joke all they have to do is do what they did with ermac in MKD and rain becomes a new person.

I think Rain has a lot of potential. I always liked him and I think that any character no matter who can be revamped. There is no more pallet swapped ninjas and wont be now because of the new games. Too many Edenians? No, too many FEMALE Edenians, Rain is the first male. Hopefully he'll return, with a new look thats given, and his story will be kickass. Give him a chance.

I agree. Rain is the only Edenian male, and if memory serves correctly, he was one of kahn's generls. So i think he would be an awesome character.

And with jokes, look how many times they brought back Johny Cage. In deception, Boon said he was ment to be a joke and a character not taken seriously. And look how many games he is in and the amount of fans he has.

Rain does have potential, and because he is engmatic like Noob Saboit, that makes Rains story more fexible. Imagine in mk7 if mileenia still masqurades as kitiania and Rain finds out and tries to stop this, or helps out jade and sindel. I think Rain still has good quality.

Now how about we think about improvements for rain.

I think Rain would be a nice addition to the next Mortal Kombat game. Look at Ermac in Mortal Kombat Deception. I think if Rain was brought back the right way, then Rain would work really well.
