i think he would fit in better in a king of fighters game or even a mario game he looks more like a plumber than a cop well from what i remember him looking like
he seems sorta out of shape, he doesnt look mean at all... he reminds me of the fat guy in that show "the king of queens"
his finishers wernt very good
i think in a way he needed to be in mk3 though alot of the stages were set in the city, buildings, train stations etc so i think they needed someone who looked the part if he wasnt in there the game wouldve been missing something
i dont think hes needed anymore, i dont wanna see him back

Doesn't look mean? Just look at his Versus screen pose. He looks like he's gonna bite his opponent's head off.

I wonder how would people react if he WAS in Deception....

I think they should give him a chance. He is an excellent fighter, just give him a more "less cop" touch, and take the guns out-

I would react something like jumping into the air and yelling "Yahoo!"
And leave the guns in-

The guy they got to play Stryker isn't really the style or body shape I think they wanted. If you see the drawings they did of him, he is extremely buff, like Brock Lesnar. Imagine if he or someone like him was in that uniform, I think it was a mistake to pick Michael O'Brien for the part. He has no martial arts talent as is obvious, so anyone could have played the part. It looks like he has to lift his leg up when he does a roundhouse. But that aside, it's really just the guy who plays him that makes the character look bad. =/

Hm...I remember looking in the Instruction Booklet when I was like 6 and I thought Stryker looked like a total bad ass....Then I played as him and my mom asked, "Why does he have a butt on his stomach"?...

Yeah that's my favorite pic of Stryker, and there aren't many of them lol. I think it'd be possible to give him an overhaul and make him into something cool, give him S.W.A.T. gear or something similar, and some nightvision goggles or some type of eye wear, maybe a buzz cut or a different hat. Keep the same moves, but perhaps a time release detonation of his grenades like Cable's in MvC2, and turn his tazer into a regular containment move, like a lasso of sorts, and lose the riot gun in exchange for this.

Any other things you guys can think of to help Stryker?

him and jax are the most laughable characters. both stereotypes. fat cop. ghetto slang black man. they started as respectable characters. stryker with his original concept and jax in mk2-4. yet something went terribly terribly wrong. what was the mk team thinking? sad

with the right look and enough make-up, the guy who played sub-zero in mk3 could of played stryker.

Jax's being ruined in MK:DA is perhaps the only hope for Stryker. Right now, Jax is all but unfixable, as they've killed the charm that made him so cool to begin with. If Midway were to have something happen to Jax to keep him out of MK:D, then Stryker could move in to fulfill the "Male Special Forces" character role. I'd really like to see him with Jax's MK3 metal arms. Perhaps give him a few moves reminiscent of Jax's but not identical. He'd be to Jax what MK:DA Kung Lao is to Liu Kang. Similar in scope and strategy, but differant enough to have his own unique appeal.

If Stryker is back I say:

Kill the guns.
Kill the bombs.
Kill the dinamite.

That stick he used (Tonfa?) was very cool.

I think stryker is better than Jarek or Tanya. Stryker fought because his soul wasn't taken in the first step of the invasion, Raiden protected his soul, so there had to be something special about him for Raiden to pick him out of a city once populated by millions. The bomb and guns are cheap in combat. What about fireballs, stealing souls, missles, energy nets, cybernetics, metal tails, being powered by the Earth's population's souls, the ability to use 'ghost balls', or teleporting... stryker was okay.. I used him a little bit, but at least he wasn't a direct copy of another character... rather of seen Scorpion in his place in MK3 though

You totally contradict yourself man. How the hell is scorpion original?!! He has about 5 clones!
Otherwise, very good points.

Stryker's stick was just a standard issue nightstick, not a tonfa, it would be neat to give him two nightsticks to use as tonfas for his weapon for MKD.

Te Tonfa and Nightstick are one and the same. However, police batons and tonfa are NOT always the same thing. Stryker's however, was a tonfa. He simply wielded one instead of two, as is the style most commonly taught to police officers.

Jax was kool in MK2,MK3/UMK3 and in MK4 but in MKDA he was ruined and turned into a sterotype.

Now Stryker I never really liked but never hated either.
When MK3 first came out I thougt he was kinda lame since he was just a normal cop with nothing special about him really(so I thought). But later on I realized he has some nice juggle combos and moves which are great. He became one of my fighters that I would pick every now and then to kick ass with and nobody expected it since it was Stryker .

Not many think Stryker can dish out pain.
