.Word, dude. I've always loved Stryker, he's been my favourite character since I first saw him. I dunno why, I just liked his "average Joe" kinda feel. I would LOVE to see him in MK6, as the OWIA newest member.

Yup, he was pretty lame and it didn't help that the actor who played him was fat and ugly. Thinking about it, he had potential but lack of a good actor can screw you over. All in all I think he's in that group of Li Mei, Rain, and Shiva. He was good for only one drive.

Character wise Styker is pretty terrible, player wise, he is awesome. He has very awkward hit boxes you can take advantage of against characters who can abuse certain attacks, and he has several different infinites/big combos for all kinds of characters and in different places, zoning bombs, the baton dash is good anti air under jump kicks, the riot gun is a great fast move, even though it has limited range with lots of possibilities.

First off, he's a COP! He sucks. A cop like stryker just does not belong in kombat. He's my least fav. character in all of kombat, he's a bitch. N he thinks he's real tough too. Y? Probably cause he's a cop n has a gun which in itself, guns in kombat just do not belong, it's cheap, the cheapest thing in kombat. Like jax in 5, he pulls out a machine gun n blasts ur ass. Thats not fighting. Leave stryker out, never even mention his name again n do away with the guns. Just my 2 cents.

Mhh, is it fighting to:
Shoot Fireballs, Frezze, Throw and Energynet, Drop Bombs, Throw Knives, Shot Missiles, Punch in the Egg, Throw an Harpoon that goes trough your Head =)

Sure it looks not very stylistic to pull out a gun, but hey, if some can shot a fireball i would shoot too =)

I don't hate Stryker. I just wanna kill him. I wanna rip his brains out with johnny cage for making a stupid decision in joining mortal kombat.

Stryker was boring, and too normal.

But I do admit he was 1 of the best in those games.

I don't like him at all! Him and Sonya are the only character I won't play as. Nightwolf is much better and I usually use either Jax, Sktor, or Liu Kang.

Stryker has as serious advantage over Nightwolf in high level play even though Nightwolf is obviously ranked higher then Stryker overall.

Nightwolf relies immensely on the tackle because of its quick recovery, and the ability to get several out in a row either reactionally blocked, or not blocked, and then change it up by running in with a combo when the person expects a tackle, and getting out an easy 45% at any time. If you duck and block, the tackle will still hit and makes it annoying to get out of without taking the combo or a tackle, if you release block and still duck, Nightwolf's tackle will push you, and you can either uppercut, or react quickly enough to combo Nightwolf.

Stryker is an exception, he can duck and block and the tackle will not do chip damage and instead push Stryker, he can then deliver heavy damage to Nightwolf, and the potentiall for up to 3 infinites depending on where you are.

Just a quick example of why I LIKE Stryker. =)

I like Stryker too. Why the hate? I think he was a necessary character to include in the MK3 storyline. Think about it - Earth suffers a massive invasion. It stands to reason that some law enforcement person or persons would play a role in combating that invasion. And how do cops fight big scary invading monsters like Motaro and Shao Kahn? They shoot at them. Take Bruce Willis from Die Hard - he was a cop. How would Bruce Willis battle Shao Kahn? If you said "with a gun", you win.

Yeah, he's like the Cable of UMK3, just not as uberly overpowered. Although he does have easy infinites. Hmmmm.....

Well Queve, first off, when i think of mortal kombat, i think of a tradition death kombat one on one with the characters using whatever supernatural powers they have to defeat the opponet.

Styker was some who used just guns and granades to fight off. I find guns to be very cowardly in a hand to hand match. So, this seems to me, that styker really is incompetant.

Styker was just another cop that says " oh no, earth is in danger. I have to stop it." I really didn't see something interesting.

This is just my opion. If i offended anyone, I am sorry, i am just stating my reasons as honestly as possible.

It kinda makes Stryker pretty smart in a sense, if you're a 100% human thrown into a mix with a bunch of people who have magic powers what else would you do? At least he's fighting, not cowaring in a hole while his planet's being taken over. Actually, he must have some kind of special powers because he has unlimited ammo =)

I have been playing as him in MK3/UMK3/MKT for the last three years now, as a tribute to my late cousin, who was a cop killed in the line of duty.

I think stryker is better than Jarek or Tanya. Stryker fought because his soul wasn't taken in the first step of the invasion, Raiden protected his soul, so there had to be something special about him for Raiden to pick him out of a city once populated by millions. The bomb and guns are cheap in combat. What about fireballs, stealing souls, missles, energy nets, cybernetics, metal tails, being powered by the Earth's population's souls, the ability to use 'ghost balls', or teleporting... stryker was okay.. I used him a little bit, but at least he wasn't a direct copy of another character... rather of seen Scorpion in his place in MK3 though

The "average joe" character has always been a favorite of mine. I love John McClane in Die Hard; he fights against the worst possible situation with only his wits and a machine gun. I also love Ash from Evil Dead/Army of Darkness; he is dropped into the most unusual sitiation and fights against it with a Shotgun and a Chainsaw.

Nothing supernatural about these 2, but they are still great. No reason Stryker cant be handled right and made as good as them.

Oh, and don't look down on Stryker because he has nothing supernatural about him. Sector and Cyrax are both fan-favorites and there is nothing supernatural about them; they are high-tech off the charts, but not supernatural.

Thats a very good point, I never really thought about the fact that Cyrax and Sektor just use weapons as well. Very interesting.
