It resembles the movie mask a little bit

Well atleast it's not a plain mask that'd be boring..

But yeah I think the mask looks better. If it was supposed to be a reference to the movie, then it does resemble it, but I'm not sure if they meant to do that.

They do resemeble one another quite a bit and I definitely like the new mask. It's been well done.

The MK vs DC mask is much more skeleton-like.

Actually, this reminds me of Scorpion's mask from the MK2 commercial and the MK2 article in an Nintendo Power Magazine from that time. There's a picture in the spread that shows Scorpion's mask and that's what I thought of when the render was released. It's very similar. The volume number of the article is vol64.

Definitely agree, but at the same time I think Midway's newest Scorpion's facemask design looks different then the MK1 and MK2 commercial mask in the sense of having that more hard, ridged look. The more "boney/scorpion" look at oppose to the "rubber pattern" movie masks. And the color is different also, one thing about the games is that every game, Scorpion's mask has had yellow within it, unlike the movies, commercials or TV Conquest shows where they're more darker, not that yellowish.

MKA Scorp mask was the only exception.

It sure does, and it looks awesome.

Movie and MK1 Scorpion have been my fave outfits for the ninjas.

With that said, I think the new Scorpion outfit is superb. Aside from the huge belt, its perfect. I really like the bone-like/scorpion-like elements they gave him, specially the details in his back.

I guess what basically caught my attention with the 2 is how they both have the solid piece going up the middle with the sides of the masks branching off in straight "lines" for lack of a better term.

Its pretty much the same concept.

Fun fact that most people aren't aware of hehe:

In MKC, Scorpion actually wore 2 different masks the one similar to MK 1 movie and one bigger.

lol I actually always noticed this too. The MKC mask was a version of the movie mask, except it squared off on the sides instead if it being curved.

It reminds me of that, but mainly a spine and ribcage which resembles a facehugger slightly.

I really like the new mask. It's appropriate for Scorpion.

Did anyone else notice that Scorpion had no mask in the GTTV episode of MK vs. DC? It was just a skull with a yellowish tint to it. I know they said that the masks can be broken and/or come off but every single clip they showed of him fighting showed the skull and not the mask in his render.

Damn, I just remembered this one picture of Scorpion, pretty fucking rare that has him blowing fire THROUGH his mask.

The outfit looked the same as that picture you linked us to. Though you can't see much of it in your pic, I see enough of the shoulder to match it.

Its hard as hell to find though, I'm sure some people know what I'm talking about.

actually I think it pays homage to the MKII TV Commercial

i love the MK movie's interpretation of the mask.

this brings to mind, reptiles mask should he be included, if he even has a mask, id love it to resemble the movie.
